Our first shot at 1-157.... the Class A power rankings!

Central Minnesota Christian. CMC was 28-2 last season and they only had two seniors (one of which missed the last two months of the year) on their team a year ago. They have five double figure scorers returning.

Southland. The Rebels return all of their man pieces from a 29-3 team and they have big expectations for next season.

Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton. JWP has three starters back from a team that played in the state title game last year, but did lose two double figure scorers.

Dawson-Boyd. The Jacks lost their best player (Liebl) but they return everything else from the rotation on a team that went 21-6.

Hills-Beaver Creek. The state champs won 30 games last season and they return three starters but they do lose two all state players. A team that is top ten level.

Upsala. Upsala made state and won 24 games a season. They have four starters back from a state team, and only two guys in the eight man rotation graduation.

Madelia. Madelia has two starters back from a 22-6 team but they do return their star.

Lanesboro. The Buros won 21 games last year and have the best player in the section (Taylor) returning plus two others. Have some experience spots to fill but should still be very good.

Wabasso. Wabasso was a 26-4 team last year with some good up and coming players, but they also lost three seniors from the rotation including the top scorer.

Nevis. Nevis had a streak of six straight trips to state but it was upset by Upsala. Nevis only had two seniors but those two were there best two players. That said, Nevis has another group of young players on the way up.

Red Lake County. Five of the top seven are gone but they have some young pieces that will fill in. They have been to state two years in a row.

Mankato Loyola. A team that I think has a chance to take a big jump as they are big with three of their top four guys back.

Benson. Benson has two very good guards back that will make them a top team, and if Goodwin is on the court consistently, they would be the favorite.

Sebeka. Sebeka was young last season and they won 20 games. With only two starters moving on and [player_tooltip player_id='2126157' first='Max' last='Lake'] ready for a monster year, Sebeka is one to watch close.

Cherry. The Tigers lost another Asuma, they lost their coach, and they really only have the last Asuma ([player_tooltip player_id='2126128' first='Isaiah' last='Asuma']) and a couple others with experience. Good? Yes. Contenders for state? Yes. Top Ten? Going to be tough.

Park Christian. Lost five of their top seven guys but they return their best player.

Northern Freeze. All of the top pieces return from last year's 17-win team.

Nicollet. A 23 victory team from a year ago that returns four starters

Pelican Rapids. The Vikings lost their top two guys but they return everything else from the rotation.

Mt. Iron-Buhl. Lost their top scorer and three of their seven players from the main rotation. Two main players back which should keep them as contenders.

Breckenridge. The Cowboys lost three starters but have some quality back in the backcourt from a 22-7 team.

Hayfield. The Vikings return all but one guy from last year's 19-win team

Mayer Lutheran. The Crusaders were a 19-win team and they return all of their key pieces from last year.

Deer River. I half thought to put them above Cherry because they beat Cherry last year but the two losses to Mt. Iron-Buhl were not close and two starters did graduate (pair of double figure scorers including a 25ppg guy).

Springfield. The Tigers were 23-7 last year but lost three of their top four players, but they have bench players returning.

Liberty Classical. We understand that they lost nearly 50 points per game with the graduation of Sam Rupnow and Ethan Richter….. BUT…. the Lions have three starters returning and some reserves.

Renville County West. RCW was an 18-8 team last year and they bring back all of their top players. Much like CMC, DB, and Wabasso, Renville County West has the pieces back to be a top ten level team.

Southwest Minnesota Christian. The Eagles won 24 games last year and they bring all of their key players back. This will be a good team but all of their losses last year were double figure losses to the best teams in the section.

South Ridge. This is the team I expect to make a jump. Only had two senior rotation guys lost, have their top player back, they lost close games with the best in the league, and their top guy is getting better.

Braham. The Bombers have two double figure scorers back but they did lose their backcourt so the guards will be inexperienced

Win-E-Mac. Returning all their key pieces, Win-E-Mac was third seeded last year but should have the most back for their sub-section.

McGregor. A 17 win team back that returns their big number big and a couple other starters.

Mabel-Canton. A couple double figure scoring starters are back with a few reserves from a 19 win team.

Fertile-Beltrami. Top six guys graduated but they did add a really good transfer.

Barnum. Top scorer is back but three of the top four scorers did graduate. WIll still be good but a step behind contention it seems.

Heritage Christian. On paper, you see that Heritage Christian has their top guy returning, big man [player_tooltip player_id='2985450' first='Aaron' last='Palmer'] back from injury, and more back than Liberty. But…. also on paper you see Liberty whooped Heritage three times last year.

Grand Meadow. Lost their top scorer but they have three starters back from an 18 win team.

Mahnomen/Waubun. Three of five starters return from a team that was seeded at the top of the sub-section.

Westbrook-Walnut Grove. WWG has half their pieces back from a 15-win team and should be good again.

Lewiston-Altura. Only one starter is back, but they have all their key reserves returning.

Edgerton. The Flying Dutchmen won 16 games and still have enough to keep flying but they did lose two two-time all league players.

Sleepy Eye-St. Mary's. SESM was a 14-13 last year but they have four of their top six guys returning.

Hope Academy. I think Hope will take a step this year. They return all starters and top scorers, they were close with United last year, and props to Hope for scheduling pretty tough to test themselves last year.

Murray County Central MCC lost their top guys but they were an 18 win team that has enough returning to be a solid team.

Underwood. Underwood has three of their top four players returning from last season.

Cleveland. The Clippers were a .500 team from last year with their top player coming back.

Henning. Four of the top seven are coming back from a state team but with Kale Misgades gone, that is half the team statistical production gone from just one guy.

Long Prairie-Grey Eagle. LPGE won nine games last season, and they return their top three scorers and six of their top eight players.

Sleepy Eye. A 13-14 team from last year that brought their key players back.

Swanville, A nine win team that lost its best player but has four starters back that will be seniors.

Cass Lake-Bena. The Panthers return all of their key players and pieces from last year's team. Should take a step forward.

Sacred Heart. A good program with an all league talent back.

Kenyon-Wanamingo. An interesting team, they have all starters back from an 11 win team, but a team that gave up a lot of points.

Ely. Ely lost their top two players from a 21-win team. Enough back to be a good team but the loss of Jack Davies will be tough to replace.

Bethlehem Academy. Four starters return from an 11-win team including the top scorers

Red Lake. Red Lake was 15-12 but with key guys back.

Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa. BBE lost half of their rotation but they have some good young players coming up. Might take another year but if they gel, they could contend this year.

Lyle/Austin Pacelli. The two two scorers return for an 11-win team.

New Ulm Cathedral. The Hounds have a 28ppg player back from an 8-win team and should take a step forward

Pine River-Backus. When it comes to the Tigers, they lost their top guy from a 17-win team but they do return multiple starters and should be solid again.

Canby. Canby had a young line-up that struggled to start losing 14 of their first 16 games. But as the year went on they beat MACCRAY, Minneota and a few others, plus they had close losses with LQPV and Lakeview. Key pieces are back.

Hancock. Lost their top two scorers but does have three of the top six guys back plus some size.

East Central. A 17-win team that was mostly seniors, only one player returns from the main rotation.

Cook County. Two two scorers are gone from a 17-win team. Those were the only seniors on the team though, can win 17 again.

Kittson County Central. KCC has their best talent back from a 13-win team.

Goodridge/Grygla-Gatzke. Top scorer back from a .500 team

Wabasha-Kellogg. The best two players on the team are back after a 10-19 year

Tracy-Milroy-Balaton. TMB has half of their rotation back but they lost their two best players from a 12-win team.

New York Mills. A team that has two very good junior starters returning from a 19 win team.

Bagley. A 12-win team that has their top player back.

Badger/Greenbush-Middle River. BGMR is a ten win team with most of the rotation back.

Spring Grove. They won ten games last year, two starters return.

MACCRAY. The Wolverines were an 8-win team year ago and they have their top player back but lose a healthy amount of the rotation to graduation.

Border West. Four starters back including their top scorer.

Lester Prairie. The Bulldogs return most of their line-up from a team that won nine games and played a lot of young guys.

Stephen-Argyle. Lost four of their starters from a team that was really good.

West Central Area. WCA has two key guys back from a team that was about .500

Brandon/Evansville. A team that was in the .500 area that returns five rotational guys and should be in the middle again.

Fosston. A six win team from last season that lost only one senior from the rotation.

Rothsay. A .500 last season that returns just about everything.

NRHEG. A ten win team from last season that returns everybody from the roster.

Clearbrook-Gonvick. The full rotation is back from a two win team.

Bigfork. Return everything from a 10-12 team a season ago.

RTR. The Knights were 15-12 last season but all of their top players graduated

United Christian Academy. After a rough start losing six of seven, UCA turned things around and won 16 games. They were very close with Heritage late in the season and they return everything but their top scorer.

BOLD. BOLD was 4-6 against section teams but had just one win in league play as they are in a tough league. Three or four starters graduated.

West Lutheran. West Lutheran has their top four players back from a team that won 14 of 27 games last season. A balanced team with four starters returning.

Martin County West. MCW has their top scorer back from a 4-23 team that should take a step forward.

Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda. A team that went from three wins to six wins last year and with their best player back they could take another step.

Medford. A team that has a good player in [player_tooltip player_id='2824381' first='Landon' last='Seiler'] who has given Medford hope.

Cromwell-Wright. A 13-win team that has two starters back but must replace five of top eight.

Ubah Academy. Ubah won 17 games last year which is good! But when they played the teams higher on this last year they got crushed by massive amounts. Big gap to fill to take the next step but they have a lot back.

Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop. GFW lost one of the best players in the history of the school in Cole Jacobson, they won 16 games with him a year ago.

Minneota. The Vikings were an eight win teams last year and they lost half of their rotation.

Fillmore Central. A four win team from last season that has two of their best guys back

Lake of the Woods. Top players are juniors, a good junior class that should help them take a jump.

TMLGHEC. The top player returns but several seniors from the rotation have graduated from this eight win team.

NCE/UH. Lost four starters but returns a double figure scorer.

North Woods. The Grizz won seven games last season and return their entire team.

Rochester Math & Science Academy. Return top players from a ten win team.

Leroy-Ostrander. A six win team last year that should take a step forward with a lot back.

Hillcrest Lutheran Academy. A team that was mostly seniors last year and most of their point production needs to be replaced.

Parkers Prairie. Four starters back from a 7-win team.

Chisholm. Top four players back from a six win team, they should take a step forward this season.

Trinity School. Played well late in the year and they have a good junior class that the new coach should be able to tap into for more wins.

CHOF. Lost their big man inside but return Elias Bratzel and the Sarbacker brothers at guard.

Ashby. All but one player returns from their team

Northome-Kelliher. Lost their top couple scorers from a season ago

Littlefork-Big Falls. Leading scorer and three starters total have graduated after winning 13 games last year.

Ortonville. Returns half of their rotation including the top scorer.

Houston.
