Chester was a consistent force for the Rebels this week, as he has good size and shows how versatile he could be. At the event, he showed that he could mix it up and finish inside, as he has a stronger, bigger build, but also can step out and be on the perimeter as well. In their closest game of the event, he hit timely shots and executed late in the game, even coming with a tough and-1 that ultimately won them the game. I also saw him step out and shoot the 3-ball, and he looks like a natural scorer who you can put in any situation. I liked how engaged he looked defensively, and this year, they’ll need him to step up on that end of the floor. He’s going to have to be the defensive anchor; he’ll be asked to take on more of a scoring load as well, so getting chemistry with teammates now can pay dividends throughout the year. Solid outing for him where I feel he boosted his stock.
Chester put together one of the most dominant weekends you’ll see, flat out controlling the game every time he stepped on the floor. Averaging a double double across all four games while shooting an incredible 72%, he was as efficient as he was relentless. He got to his spots with ease, never forced the action and consistently made high quality decisions with the ball. Whether it was finishing through contact, cleaning up on the glass, or creating space, Chester had an answer. Along with the huge numbers his leadership stood out by keeping teammates engaged, spacing the floor and elevating everyone around him. This was a complete high level performance from start to finish
We’ve been excited to see what it looks like when he’s not specifically in an underclassman glue guy role, and he could venture out freely and make plays happen. He explored his game this weekend, and it looks like he’s capable of this kind of play. In their game against Pluto, he’s the one who gave his team a chance as he came up big time and time again. Chester finished with 26 points, rebounded well for his size, and started the break at times. I like his decision-making and assertiveness. This kind of start to the summer gives you confidence. Can’t wait to go back and watch the other games from him
Chester played big throughout the showcase, dominating the glass with his strength, positioning, and relentless pursuit of rebounds. Once he secured the ball he showed a polished arsenal of post moves, finishing inside with efficiency and composure. What was fun to watch from him though, was his shooting ability. He not only could knock down mid range looks, but he also stretched the floor with a deadly deep ball that kept defenders honest. Chester’s combination of interior toughness, refined scoring inside, and perimeter shooting made him one of the most versatile and difficult matchups on the floor
