Jackson shot the ball tremendously well on Tuesday afternoon finishing with 17 points off the back of his 5 second half threes in Clovis West’s (CA) win over Coronado (NV), 79-63. Young provided a huge spark for the Golden Eagles in this one as his constant movement without the ball gave Coronado fits and he was able to create open shots for his teammates as well with all of the attention he garnered on the perimeter.

Officially over 1,000 career points! Well deserved as the sharpshooter was on fire once again. Young’s movement off the ball on offense is always a struggle for the other team defensively. Seems like he’s watched a lot of Klay Thompson off-ball gravity, because his conditioning seemed to be a strength of his while he’s trying to get to his shot to knock down the 3. The offensive scheme of the Eagles truly lets Jackson thrive, with their strong ball movement and relentless transition. Jackson seems to be a major cog in this machine and was one of the standouts from this past tournament.

Whenever I see the word Clovis in front of a team, I know they’re going to compete, play smart and be tough. Jackson Young from Clovis West brings all those traits and a strap to Section 7. His ability to change the scoreboard and protect the ball, will be key to both team and personal success for him this weekend.
