When it came to energy, effort and physicality around the basket, Castro was a step above the rest of the wings and forwards we saw. The strong-framed 6-foot-5 sophomore projects as a dribble-drive four man who is best in face-up situations where his ball skills, downhill speed and vertical athleticism led to bully-ball finishes around the basket. Castro showed a high motor and relentless pursuit of the ball on the glass.

The 6-foot-5 wing/forward is an athletic and bouncy player that is a force around the basket on both ends, is a high-level rim protector, a versatile defender, and excels in the open court. Castro showed his two-way impact on Day 1 of the Clovis West Nike Fall event, going for 6 points and 3 blocks in a tough loss to Sheldon in overtime, and that was with limited time in the first half due to foul trouble, followed by a 6 point half in the game against Franklin of Elk Grove. Castro has a massive wingspan, quick leaping ability to get off the ground, has the timing, instincts, and length to be a great rim protector and shot altering presence in the paint, the lateral agility to close out and contest perimeter shots, active hands, quick movement, and awareness to deflect entry passes, jump passing lanes, or poke the ball out to get out and push the ball in the open court, where he has some dazzling dunks in transition. Castro has good hands and touch on shots around the basket, uses the spin-move, up-and-under, drop-step, and fade-away middy to get open in tight windows around the basket, has the handles to create off the perimeter, and is tough to stop when he gets downhill with a head of steam, with the strength to score through contact down the lane.
