Expert Analysis
Paul Hernandez | Prep Hoops Scout
Bradford is a physical, high-energy, and athletic forward that dominates the painted area on both ends, crashes the boards relentlessly, and is able to space the floor with the perimeter shot. Bradford has had an impressive Summer and Fall for Clovis West, and he brought all that and then some at the recent Sanger West Fall-Out Showcase, where he would dominate the glass and score countless times off the put-back and missed shots, which is the foundation of his game. Bradford seals his opponents off nicely, is a quick leaper off the ground to get to the basket first, goes and gets the ball when it is knocked around or tipped out, and uses his physical frame to muscle through contact to score at the basket often. Bradford has enough handle to put the ball on the deck and attack the basket, is effective with the straightaway jumper, has good court vision to make good reads from the top of the key, the low-block to teammates cutting down the lane, and finds to teammates running the baseline while he is in the paint for the drop off pass. Bradford has good post-moves with the drop-step, spin-move, hook-floater, and up-and-under lay-ups to evade shot blockers.

The 6-foot-6 power forward controls the paint, dominates the boards, finds openings around the basket for easy catch and score opportunities, and does a great job of playing to his strengths and within his skill set. After a great showing at the recent Central Cali Prospect Preview Showcase, Bradford looked even more assertive on Day 1 of the Clovis West Nike Fall Shootout, going for 13 points and 7 rebounds in a two-point loss to Sheldon, followed by an 8 point first half against Franklin, which was the last game of the first day and I left at halftime. Bradford boxes out fundamentally to secure the boards on both ends, gets easy points off the missed shots, outlets the ball quickly to get up the court for the transition points, has solid footwork in the post, good use of the spin-move, up-and-under, drop-step, and short-porch jumper to score within 15 feet of the basket, and makes good reads from the top of the key to cutting teammates. Bradford has good timing and quick bounce to block or alter shots in the paint, as well as the strides to close out on perimeter shooters.
