Almonte’s effectiveness, producing offense particularly off the catch stood out as perhaps the most notable part of his performance—  finding pockets of space out of different DHO’s and off different ball reversals for tough mid range pull ups and straight line finishes at the rim while being equally effective confidently stepping into catch and shoot looks with smooth rhythm and strong balance. Beyond his scoring ability, Almonte showed a good feel as a connective passer, reading the floor well and willingly making the extra pass to put teammates in position for open looks at the basket.

Almonte has a chance to quickly establish himself as one of the better young prospects in New Jersey. The freshman already has good size on the wing and, more importantly, can really shoot the basketball. He scored at all three levels Saturday and showed the kind of perimeter confidence that should allow him to contribute despite his youth. He’ll get tested early at the varsity level, but there’s considerable upside as his body and overall game continue to mature.

Lanky wing with a decisive attacking style and excellent downhill ability. He gets to his spots with purpose, showcasing a smooth shooting stroke and a reliable pull-up game. Plays with efficiency off the bounce, keeping his dribble tight and avoiding unnecessary moves while consistently putting himself in position to score.

One of the better shooters over the course of the 2026 circuit cycle, Almonte is a smooth scorer who looks ready made to step into minutes with a St. Peter’s team that graduates a ton of production as well as lost more to transfer. His ability to stretch a defense and get his shot off over his man will likely mean he’s one of the better scorers in year one.
