Martinez ended the 2025-26 season on a high note and should carry that momentum over into 2026-27. The 6’5 wing has a smooth release on his jumper and can knock down triples in bunches. Martinez moves well without the ball in his hands, freeing himself for open jumpers and layups in the half court. Martinez’s development has, within the flow of the offense, seen him display a natural scoring instinct without forcing the action, consistently knocking down in rhythm C+S threes with both confidence and high efficiency. While also thriving moving without the ball as a cutter, capitalizing on easy scoring opportunities, while attacking closeouts with quick and decisive reads and making a major impact on the offensive glass. Equally as impactful on the defensive end of the floor, Martinez’s length, toughness, and versatility allow him to affect the game in multiple ways, both as a reliable rebounder and a versatile multi positional defender capable of guarding several positions on the floor. 

At the start of this past HS season, Martinez earned an offer from Wagner and if his development over the last calendar year or so is indicative of things to come, plenty of other scholarship programs are set to show interest in translatable skillset.

Rarely forcing action on the offense end of the floor, Martinez shined knocking down opportunistic in rhythm catch and shoot threes with confidence and extreme efficiency, moving well without the ball as a cutter to capitalize off easy scoring chances, and attacking closeouts with quick decision making while also being extremely impactful on the offensive glass. On the defensive end, his length and toughness allowed him to be a difference maker both as a strong rebounder and a versatile multi positional defender. Martinez’s development heading into the summer time will be interesting to track to see what additional growth he takes in his game going forward.

Coming off a 17-point sectional championship performance with five 3’s, Martinez wasn’t quite as hot offensively but made a notable impact on the game nonetheless. The junior swingman grinded his way to 10 points, showing his toughness as a finisher around the rim through contact and on the glass while hauling in 11 rebounds. He struggled to 1-for-6 from deep but shoots a pretty ball that leaves you thinking it’s going in whenever it leaves his hands. Martinez should attract consistent scholarship-level attention moving forward and see a big spike in production next season as the Marauders’ only returning starter.

The only junior starter in a tight rotation of primarily experienced seniors, Martinez proved to be the difference, breaking open a razor tight defensive slog with an explosive performance from the perimeter. Martinez shook free for five massive 3’s, all coming via the catch and shoot, showcasing smooth and confident mechanics with no fear to let fly in the biggest moments of the game. He scored a team-high 17 points while maintaining consistent activity as an athletic contributor in the floor game. Having earned a D1 offer earlier this winter from Wagner, Martinez appears clearly on track toward the scholarship level with his name now etched in St. Peter’s Prep lore from this point forward.

Continuing to solidify his reputation as a dependable and high impact two way wing, Oscar Martinez Oscar Martinez 6'5" | SF St. Peter’s Prep | 2027 OK delivered another impressive showing—standing out for his offensive instincts and the toughness and physical attributes he provides defensively. His off ball effectiveness continued to be a key asset, as he showed an innate ability to knock down clean perimeter looks while also converting on trips to the free throw line and contributing on the offensive glass. On the defensive end, Martinez’s length and strength were evident in his work on the glass and overall versatility. He actively chased second chance opportunities, secured defensive rebounds, and consistently held his own at the point of attack.

Martinez’s off ball movement remains a strength, as he consistently finds gaps in the defense to create easy scoring chances— converting on a number of open outside looks, highlighting his ability to be a threat as both a movement shooter and a spot up shooter from the perimeter. Defensively, his length and strength translated to productive rebounding and versatility, as he pursued second chance opportunities, crashed the defensive glass and held his ground at the point of attack.
