Even with some struggles on the offensive end, I liked how Strine competed defensively. He showed good timing when going up for rebounds and blocks. He finished with 9 points and made the most of his opportunities at the foul line. Moving forward, I’d like to see him improve his foot speed, as he can at times look a bit stuck when trying to defend quicker opponents. Strine still intrigues long-term and look forward to seeing him in the grassroots season.

Making an immediate splash and emerging as one of the state’s top 2029 prospects at this early stage, Strine has been off to a roaring start while making a seamless transition to the varsity level. Averaging over 17 points per game, Strine shows a smooth and translatable skillset with projectable positional size and athleticism. He moves well off the ball for both 3s and layups with a smooth stroke that should be a focal point of his game for years to come. It’s still early but he checks a lot of the early boxes of a D1 prospect with potential upside for higher levels as he shows more against stronger competition.

Strine has made a case already this season as one of the most productive and intriguing freshmen in the state, keeping up his hot start with 17 points in Tuesday night’s win. He impressed with his ability to keep things simple, playing efficiently off his jump shot while knocking down 5 3s in the process. His ability as a movement shooter is already advanced for a freshman, particularly at his size, with smooth footwork and a high release. Strine shows polish attacking off the bounce with flashes of athleticism near the basket, while consistently applying his length to chip in on the glass. His lack of quickness can be exposed at times right now but Strine nonetheless has the early makings of a long-term D1 prospect, with upside as he develops physically.

Strine is a rangy wing who has had some solid performances to start out his varsity career. He does a nice job filling the lane in transition. He can play above the rim. He is effective at screening off the ball. Strine is in a good position to rebound. He has good body control when he is going to spots off the bounce. Strine has an effective runner. He has nice shooting mechanics and likes to hunt shots off the ball from behind the arc. If you leave him open he will make you pay. Strine could work on speeding up his release a bit.
