fought hard to keep Mountain Vista in the game, scoring 19 points and bringing down 8 rebounds. The 6’3 playmaker utilizes his frame well, attacking the defense’s weak spot and getting creative while forcing separation on offense. The #10-ranked SG in his class never let off the gas against a tough Jaguars squad that stayed a step ahead this time. Second-chance opportunities come easily to Rooney, which is why I wouldn’t be surprised if we see Rooney take over in the next Jaguar-Golden Eagle outing.

Rooney has become the steady heartbeat behind Mountain Vista’s surge, and his leadership is a major reason they’re riding a 10 game winning streak and sitting at an impressive 11–3. What makes him so valuable is his adaptability. Averaging 13.1 points per game, he understands his role can change nightly and embraces whatever the team needs. When it’s his turn to score he does it with precision by taking smart, efficient shots and knocking them down from anywhere on the floor. His vision keeps the offense connected, and defensively he sets the tone with tough, relentless pressure. He’s rising because his impact consistently shows up in winning, not just numbers. Coaches trust him in big moments, teammates feed off his edge, and his all around influence continues to grow as Mountain Vista contends

Rooney looked every bit like a big time player, putting his full offensive bag on display while finishing with 18 points. He played smart and patient, consistently taking what the defense gave him. When left open he confidently knocked down the three, and when pressure tightened, he put the ball on the deck and attacked the rim with purpose. What really stood out was his poise and lack of hesitation as the go to option, embracing the moment and delivering all night.

Rooney has the makeup of a player who can rise into the conference’s top tier with a big season. He’s dangerous in the open court, plays hard with a physical frame, and this summer, we saw him be trusted with the ball more. What I feel that Rooney did over the summer that will make for a successful season if it is applied is his decision-making with the ball and ability to set up not only himself for baskets, but others. Putting him at the guard spot allows for a dangerous scorer who can create mismatches. He competes on every possession, thrives in space, and if the production matches the tools, his stock takes a real jump for Mountain Vista. He’s the No.2 X-factor in the conference this season.

Rooney put on a clinic this summer as an under-the-radar prospect who belongs in the conversation with the top names. He was a force for a loaded Elevation squad as the team’s primary ballhandler and scorer at times despite being surrounded by some big-time names. He showed consistency and growth over the summer as a player who excels with the ball in his hands, does not let the game come to him, but rather goes out and takes it, and he also competes on every possession. Rooney is a prospect that I feel will turn heads this season on a solid team, and with his work he put in this season will be ready to get going. He makes a jump in the rankings.

flies around the court and causes havoc on both ends of the hardwood. Defensively, Rooney slides his feet quickly and clamps up his assignment on the perimeter. Rooney has improved immensely over the summer, coming off a successful campaign with the
Elevation Flyers
. On a stacked Mountain Vista team, Rooney should have no problem making plays oncemore.

quietly stole the show this weekend with his all-around impact. While Elevation’s size grabbed the pregame attention, it was Rooney who led the charge in each game. He scored in transition, hit countless shots as he was the team’s top scorer on the weekend, grabbed boards, and made smart passes. He took over as the primary ball handler and delivered with consistency. His complete game stood out, and after this performance, expect a significant jump in his stock and the rankings.

Rooney does everything you want from your guard. His handles are solid when he’s bringing the ball up, and he works hard to get open off the ball. He’s got a great ability to create his own shot too. Hudson’s got a quick first step that lets him blow by defenders and get to the basket. The thing that sets him apart and stands out the most about his game is the unselfishness Hudson plays with. While driving- he’s always keeping his eyes up court looking to dish it out to a teammate for an easy shot. And when the time’s right, he’s not shy about finishing at the hoop himself.

was a pivotal player in Mountain Vista’s matchup against Overland. Rooney was able to cash in 18 points, 4 rebounds and a steal. Hudson has a quick first step at 6’3 and knows how to protect the ball in traffic. The junior guard has developed enormously across the board over the course of his high school career.

is a defensive onslaught who causes havoc on the court. Rooney was a constant pest against Loveland, coming up with 6 steals. Hudson moves his feet well and communicates with his teammates often. Offensively, Rooney can attack a defense on all 3 levels.
