Expert Analysis
Bobby Lopez | Prep Hoops Scout
Burgess has a skill set that could give him a chance to carve out a bigger role as his game develops. We like the value his shooting can provide, particularly with his ability to stretch a defense and make teams pay when they lose track of him. There is also a willingness to mix it up for rebounds that adds some toughness to his profile. From here we’ll be watching to see how much he can grow as a creator when defenders close out hard. Adding confidence with the ball and finding additional ways to influence possessions could take Burgess from a shooting specialist to a more well rounded guard

Burgess showed a reliable shooting stroke and did a good job making his opportunities count when his feet were set. His accuracy from the perimeter gave the offense spacing, while his willingness to rebound added another layer to his impact. He didn’t simply stand around waiting for shots, competing for possessions when the ball went up. Moving forward we want to see him become more comfortable attacking closeouts, making plays off the bounce and continuing to find ways to impact the game beyond his shooting
