Vinson looks to emerge as a senior leader for a Pius XI Catholic program looking to make some noise this winter in the ultra-tough Western Division of the Woodland Conference. A quick combination guard with the ability to get to the basket, Vinson’s first inclination is to attack the basket. And he does that well as he gets to the rim often and can finish over taller defenders. Vinson also can use his ball-handling and passing skills to get his teammates the ball in scoring situations. He averaged 7.6 points and 3.2 rebounds as a junior and is one of five returning regulars for Pius XI Catholic.

Vinson has great court vision and puts it to work as an excellent passer. He was racking up dimes in transition, off penetration through both kick-outs and dump-offs, and through whatever other opportunities he saw. He demonstrated a good basketball IQ, which was evident in his team-oriented play and also through positioning for rebounds, which he hauled in at an impressive rate considering his size. Vinson can also score, but it was these other qualities that really differentiated him from the pack in my opinion.
