About Dario
Expert Analysis
Bobby Lopez | Prep Hoops Scout
Washington has a game that carries plenty of upside heading into the summer because he already shows the traits coaches want in a lead guard. He is a natural scorer who can create his own offense, but he also has the vision to make plays for teammates when defenses collapse. His quick handles allow him to break defenders down and get downhill, putting constant pressure on the paint. What stands out most is his confidence in big moments, as he proved he can knock down clutch shots when the game is on the line. That poise is difficult to teach. With more reps and added consistency, Washington looks ready for a breakout summer and a larger role next season

established his defensive presence and ball control in Rangeview’s crucial victory over ThunderRidge. Washington was able to contribute 4 assists and 2 steals, which were essential for the Raiders’ transition game. Utilizing his time on the hardwood, Washington was able to locate his guys often, resulting in a consistent flow of offense that the Grizzlies couldn’t find an answer to. Moving forward into the final stretch of this years electric playoffs, expect Washington to be a massive sleeper who’s about to awaken everybody.

Washington delivered an impressive and well rounded performance showing why he’s a player to watch on both ends of the floor. Offensively he attacked defenders with poise and confidence, using quick drives to the rim to finish through traffic while maintaining control. His vision and playmaking stood out, consistently finding open teammates with timely passes for easy buckets. Defensively Washington was active and disruptive, using quick hands and anticipation to create steals that turned into fast break opportunities. What set him apart was his exceptional court awareness where he always seemed to be in the right spot at the right time. Washington’s combination of scoring, facilitating, defensive instincts and overall basketball IQ made him one of the most versatile and impactful players throughout the showcase

What we know:
What we know is that Dario is a proven winner who got to learn the ropes from one of the best guards that the state has seen for the last few years. We know that he knows how to run an offense, that he is a poised guard that takes care of the ball, and that he has some of the best varsity experience against top-notch talent.
What we’d like to see:
We’d like to see how much of the learning alongside some of the top guards in the state in the last season translates to going up against other top players in the state. With a guard that gets valuable minutes on one of the top teams in the state and battling against some of the top guards in the state in practice daily, if iron sharpens iron. We want him to come to the event and prove that he’s a polished guard who the game comes easily. We want to see if he’s able to score in transition, play off the ball and take over as a scorer. I’d also like to see what kind of defender he is.

With Rangeview’s lead guards graduating, Washington steps into a massive role this season. He’ll have to run the offense, be asked to take over in games, and impact defensively every night. We didn’t see much of him this summer, so this showcase is the perfect tune-up to prove he belongs among the best. We want more from him, we expect more, and September 7th is his chance to show he’s a top dog and ready to lead.

saw limited time, it gave him valuable experience on one of the top teams in the state. That year helped lay the groundwork for what’s to come. He’s a confident, aggressive scorer who looks to get going the moment he steps on the floor. He’s a microwave-type guard who can create his own shot and bring energy on both ends. In AAU play, he’s started to expand his game adding playmaking and defensive consistency. He’s one to watch heading into Year 2 and is a player who should remain among the top of the class throughout the years, as I expect plenty of team success throughout his high school career.

Washington has shown his upside this past summer and fall, displaying a tight handle and quick instincts reading the floor. Although within a endless depth chart of bakccourt names at Rangeview, he will likely be a name worth following both this upcoming summer and in next season’s depth chart within that Rangeview program, who has yet to lose a game this season.
