After watching him for the first time Tuesday night, Watters has turned me into a big fan. His size and skillset combination is perfect. He is listed as 6’6 and is a big body strong kid who can easily play forward but instead, he plays more of a guard. Great wide frame. He handles the ball well and has great court vision with the ball in his hands. He can find open teammates and reads the defense correctly every time. Watters is a sniper as well. He has good range and with his height, he needs no space to get it off. With his size, he also gets to the rim consistently. There he can do even more damage against the defense. Watters is a matchup nightmare. Next-level player!

Watters was a standout in the Midwest Basketball Club Fall League, helping his team win the championship. Watters has continued to grow each year and has the size and length to become an impact defensive player with development in the weight room at the college level. An elite shooter as well, few players can get hot from 3-point range as quickly as Watters can. I expect Watters to be a high priority small college recruit as we continue into January and February as playoff time inches closer and closer.

The top shooter in the league, Watters helped lead his team to the championship, winning finals MVP in the process. He looks poised to have a big senior season for a Big Walnut team that’s a prime sleeper candidate in central Ohio this winter.

The best shooter in the gym, Watters went off for four or five 3-pointers in the first half of the first game of the day. Constantly moving without the ball in his hands, Watters knows that he needs to be active off the ball to get as many open shots as possible. Confident even a few feet behind the 3-point line, Watters hit a couple 3’s where defenders just didn’t get up to the level quickly enough. Showed off a couple off the bounce moves including a nasty right to left crossover for an easy layup. I think Big Walnut could be a sleeper in central Ohio this winter as they have a lot of talent across the board.

One of the most efficient scorers at the event, Watters was knocking down shots from the 3-point line and mid-range area for a big-time jump-shooting display. Showcasing more on ball creation off the bounce, Watters was getting to his spots and using his positional size from the wing to shoot over smaller defenders. As a slasher, Watters used the rim as protection on reverse layups showing some craft as a slasher. I expect Watters to have a big year for Big Walnut as they have a nice mix of senior and younger production returning.

One of the top shooters from central Ohio in the 2024 class, Watters got hotter than a blowtorch at the Prep Hoops 250 Expo this fall and has continued to show his outside shooting ability with Big Walnut this season. More than just a shooter, Watters is a capable defender and can make a smart pass to a teammate. Another player for small college programs to watch, I think Big Walnut could be one of the most improved teams in central Ohio during the 2023-24 season.

Watters had the 3-point shooting display of the day with probably seven or eight 3-pointers in his final game of the day. Whenever Watters had even just a little bit of space, it was going up and it was going in. Watters also showed a little off the dribble game with pump-fakes after the defense realized he was money from long distance. Watters has been impressive at the Bleacher Republic Fall League and continued to raise his stock after this event as well, look for him to make a splash during the next 2024 rankings update.

An elite shooting prospect, Watters made it rain from long range in both games I caught of his on Saturday. Watters has good size at 6’3 and has a quick release. I was also impressed with Watters ability to finish when he occasionally put the ball on the floor. With Watters and Trenton Minor Trenton Minor 6'4" | PF Big Walnut | 2024 State OH , Big Walnut has a nice 2024 duo to build with this season.
