The term “3 level” scorer is often overused when evaluating high school prospects. The performances Sucharda has been putting together has him in rare air. He’s comfortable with off the dribble or catch and shoot threes. He is finishing through contact better on drives, while also being a willing and smart off the ball mover. And finally, he can stop and pop in the mid-range. When teammate Young was on the bench in the third quarter due to foul trouble, Sucharda showed off all those scoring skills as Newcastle briefly gained separation. Last week, Surcharda was apart of an article highlighting unsigned seniors with fantastic production. It was great to see him back up that production in a huge game, against an opponents that will also be playing in college. The now 6 foot 4 dynamic scoring off guard is a no brainer for regional small colleges, with the possibility of being the type of prospect who would really explode after a year or two in “JuCo”.

Games Watched: at Kingfisher, vs Bishop McGuinnessrnNewcastle is a riser in Class 4A thanks to an exciting underclassmen, but one constant for the Racers over recent years has been the now 1,000 point scorer. There are some “stereotypical” small town “bully ball” aspects to his game as he thrives in transition and hits the glass hard. But his height, improving playmaking, and ability to work in the midrange show that he has the traits to translate to be a productive collegiate player. On the year, Sucharda is averaging 20 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists.

The second half of Newcastle’s dynamic one-two backcourt punch. Sucharda in his own right one of the better scorers in the small town ranks. While he can threaten teams from deep, he’s often most exciting when driving Where his combination of size and athleticism allows him to excel.

A “plus” athlete with good size for either guard spot, Sucharda has some traditional smaller school guard traits of leaning on size, strength and natural talents to bully his way past smaller/weaker foes. Throughout the summer, he continued to improve his athleticism with more explosive finishing at the rim. But he’s more than an “one trick pony” on the offensive end, he’s a good shooter as well. Especially with his ability to work in the midrange. Mix in good rebounding and a dash of playmaking skills, and he’s a strong all around guard with collegiate potential.
