Have watched a lot of games of Brammer’s since his freshman year at Southmoore. He’s had his moments and produced during in person viewings, but it always seemed that his best games came when I wasn’t in attendance. For the first 10 quarters of Brammer and Newcastle’s State Tournament, that concept was holding true. I was at the quarterfinal win over East Central and the senior was quiet. Missed the semifinals on Friday night, and he led the Racers in scoring when they won over Midwest City.
For the first half of Saturday’s title game, it was more of the same. Had a few turnovers and was quiet again as a scorer. Brammer was simply saving his best for last. He sparked the Newcastle’s stalled offense with big time shot making from all over the court. And even was trusted with the shot to break the tied game in the closing second. A nothing but net from three to deliver Newcastle the Class 5A State Championship. One of the most signature shots of the 2025-26 season and the 2020s came from a four year grinder who always produced.

After a first half that saw McGuinness close and threatening an upset, Brammer was one of the Racers to step up and help them pull away. Started the second half with a triple, then went to work off the bounce. Did a good job of dissecting the defense with patient play out of ball screens. Can keep defenders casually on his hip while waiting for openings for himself or his teammates. His mid-range pull up game remains his biggest strength. Able to stop in the 8-12 range with great touch. Or shake opponents and make 14-18 footers look like easy money. Did just that to cap off the game later in the fourth, where he stopped on a dime and expertly used a subtle push off to hit the jumper.

Brammer was quiet for three quarters, then closed the door of a low scoring slug fest. For four years his signature shot has been the mid-range jumper. Even with it surely being at the top of his scouting report, he was able to knock down a pair of them in the fourth to extend the Newcastle lead. Then his strong frame allowed him to score a tough finish at the rim to cap his game changing scoring. The Racers have a variety of ways to score the ball, but Brammer could prove to be their closer as they gear up for a 5A State Title punch.

Few players in high school have a trademark shot like Brammer does. If teams don’t send a double when he gets to his spot around the elbow, then his turnaround jumper might as well be automatic. That trademark shot, along with the ability to cook from deep has made him one of the most productive players in the Class of 2026. In fact, he’s already crossed 1,000 points while playing at the 6A level. Expect the buckets to continue to flow with his move to Newcastle, who will either be in Class 5A and or 4A. Regardless of school size, the Racers with Brammer at the helm will be one of the top teams in Oklahoma.

Brammer seemingly always plays at his own pace. Even though defenders can be more athletic and taller than him, he just seems unflappable. Hits a little ball fake, they fly right by. A subtle dribble move, suddenly there’s enough space. And when he has space in the mid-range and three, odds are it’s going in. Especially with his patented turn around jumper. Rogue ‘ last=”] also takes advantage of his shooting ability with good sets involving off the ball screens, including elevator looks. One of the most consistent producers in Oklahoma, and proof to not judge a book by it’s cover.

One of the teams playing the best ball since the calendar turned to 2025 is Southmoore. Over the last week, they’ve jumped to the top of District 6A-1 with wins over top district opponents Edmond Memorial, Deer Creek and Putnam City. The win against PCO avenged a season opening loss and was also a career high 39 points for the sharpshooting junior. In early season viewings Brammer felt off, as he wasn’t his usual efficient self. But he’s been on a torrid tear with teammate
