Expert Analysis
Sam Duren | Prep Hoops Scout
Joining Warlick in forming a bruise brothers combo downlow, Potts had a productive 9 point and 7 rebound game. The chemistry the two have around the rim, or Warlick in the high post is one of the most lethal scoring combinations in 6A. The physical senior also crashes the glass hard, as one of the best offensive rebounders in Okahoma.

Bryce Potts Bryce Potts 6'7" | PF Edmond North | 2024 State OK made an impact in a couple of different ways. He finished with 13 points and his points came from free throws, scoring inside, and a mid-range jumper. He grabbed several rebounds, including offense rebounds. On one of his offensive rebounds, he went back up for the putback and drew the foul. This led to him going 2/2 from the free throw line. One of my favorite plays for him was simple, good basketball. He fought to get positioning, where he received the entry pass. This resulted in him finishing over the smaller defender. It was a great play from him. He was able to get a dunk during the game and also finished through two defenders with the foul. He missed the free-throw, but was able to show assertiveness to make a difference using his size. It was a good game for him in more than one area.

Potts is a guy that I like to call a hard hat guy. He does all the things that help your team win basketball games. He rebounds at a very high clip and even if he can’t get to the rebound he always tips it to a space where one of his teammates can get to it. When looking at Potts his physical presence reminds you more of a football player instead of a basketball player and he uses this to his advantage on the defensive side well by boxing out bigger opponents and keeping them from dominating his team.

The unsigned senior continued his hot start to the season in the first quarter. Potts lived in the paint and the offensive glass in the first frame, before foul trouble would derail his performance. After providing a boost off the bench as a sophomore and junior, the now more explosive forward prospect has earned a starting spot and he’s remarkably keeping similar efficiency while as a starter.
Even with foul trouble limiting Potts to only 15 minutes, he still filled up the stat sheet with 10 points and 8 rebounds. His emergence as a big time post threat and rebounding opposite of Warlick has helped propel Edmond North to a now 6-0 start.

Potts has often been an impact player off the bench for North, he opened his senior season with a start and delievered. He brought the same bruising mentality around the rim, while also looking trimer and more explosive when finishing and corralling rebounds. The increased versatilely was also apparent when he connected on an early spot up triple. Along with cleaning the glass on both ends, he showed his improved quickness when he was matched up one on one with an opposing guard, moved his feet and then swallowed the shot whole with an emphatic block. Potts would be a featured player for many programs, but his willingness to do the dirty work and excell in his role make an endearing prospect to regional D2 schools.

Edmond North has a lot of size and for a lot of other teams in the state, the junior would be a starter. As is, he embraces his role off the bench and combined with Warlick to beat up the Jaguars on the glass. Potts also shows some good chemistry with the fellow junior, as he’s often a recipient of passes after Warlick draws a crowd.
