Lamar has been a steady contributor the last couple of seasons, and his consistency rings out. He’s an athletic 6’3 forward who plays above his size, he uses his strength to dominate inside, and he either finishes or heads to the FT line. He’s a bruiser that finishes through contact, he has excellent footwork, and gets out in transition and finishes through traffic. He also battles for boards on every possession and keeps plays alive. He’s up to 12.8 points and 5.8 rebounds a game and has his team playing some of their best ball of the season as they head into league play. I expect a big finish to the season, but he’s a player who makes a significant leap in the rankings.

Lamar Jr brought his complete game standing out as both a team player and a reliable scorer. With the ball in his hands he finishes confidently, attacking the rim with poise and touch. He showed he can score at all three levels by finishing inside, pulling up in the midrange, and knocking down shots from deep. On the other end he had quick feet that allowed him to stay in front of his man, apply steady on ball pressure and rotate effectively within the team defense. His willingness to defend, move the ball and play within the system shows his unselfish approach and ability to impact the game beyond just scoring. At The Expo Lamar Jr proved he’s more than just a scorer, he’s a complete player who elevates those around him

Lamar has been a serviceable defensive weapon versus a wide variety of positions, helpful through timely rotations and two-way effort on the glass. At his size at 6’3 or 6’4, his wide reach paired with gritty attitude allows him to guard when needed, comfortable altering frontcourt opponents’ shots. His continued growth as a three point shooter will help round out Mesa Ridge’s offensive upside, as the roster is still seeking more consistency from distance.

Lamar is another Mesa Ridge athlete who has made strides as a three point shooter, fairly dependable off the catch. This is alongside his defensive toughness and high motor, capable of guarding up against bigger opponents one on one. Still a dependable rebounder, he played a large portion of the center position for 7070 in July, capable of guarding up when necessary.

Lamar will be a riser in the next update, given his wiry frame and efficient shooting on spot-up attempts. Comfortable playing a physical role on the glass, the wing has brought plenty of rebounding production for 7070, adding an important layer to their two-way efforts. His defensive toughness and discipline against any position 1 through 5 makes Lamar primed for a larger role this coming eason.

Lamar shot the ball very well when provided space, effective on spot-up attempts behind the arc. The wiry strong wing was a verstaile defender who could guard up against bigger opponents when tasked. His continued growth along the perimeter will be huge to his offensive versatility, given the high floor on defense he already brings.
