Ross is one of the new faces to this New World group, but should have a great opportunity to carve out a meaningful role in a hurry. He wasted no time in making his presence known off the bench as he came in and buried a deep three from the top of the key. He carried much of the primary ball handing duties in the half court and if he embraces this aspect, it could pay dividends for both Ross and his team in the long term. He knocked down another three off the bounce in the second half well beyond the line, reassuring his long-range shooting prowess.

A new face to this Sidwell roster, Ross came into this season looking to provide shooting and floor-spacing. He wasted no time in establishing his role yesterday as he knocked down a couple of early triples in a high scoring first quarter of action. O’Connell was chasing him off the line from there on out and Ross did a nice job of attacking closeouts or gaps in the defense with balance before rising up for pull-ups from 13-to-18 feet with proficiency. He followed his fellow teammate,

Ross makes his debut on the MD/DC site after making the short trip up from Virginia as he transferred from Paul VI to Sidwell Friends. The combo guard is primed for a productive junior season under head coach Eric Singletary and adds a great deal of floor spacing thanks to his outside shooting prowess. Over the summer with Boo Williams, Ross showcased an uptick in confidence as a playmaker off the bounce and while on this Sidwell team he’ll be utilized for his long range shooting the most, there should be more spurts of Ross’ on-ball initiating that’ll further boost his stock. Ross enters the rankings inside the top-25 at No. 23 overall.

Lets take a look at a combo guard that does a little bit of everything on the court, Andrew. is a smart, well-rounded guard prospect with a great combination of size, skill, and athleticism. Andrew can handle the ball as needed but is arguably at his best when applying pressure as a spot-up threat. He plays hard to regularly outwork opponents for rebounds and loose balls. Andrew also moves very well without the ball. Next, in his development process is working on getting stronger. Andrew is a crafty guard with great size for his position. Shoots it well from beyond the arc and can finish over smaller defenders at a high level. Good finisher through traffic or contact. He can work on his overall ball-handling and being able to operate from the point guard spot when needed. Ross’s on-ball defense can also improve.

Andrew Ross Andrew Ross 6'5" | CG Sidwell | 2027 State MD has been outstanding for St. Stephen’s St. Agnes this year. He is a versatile player with a great IQ for a freshman. Andrew is good with the ball and moves well without it. He is a good scorer and has a lot of potential on defense. Andrew is a combo guard right now, but over time, I could see that changing. Andrew is the number one ranked Freshman in the state, and he contributed to SSAS in a big way.

Ross has been huge for the Saints in his first HS season, providing the flexibility of producing on the ball or off of it as a prolific shooter to open driving lines for some of the upperclassmen talent. While he already possesses ideal size for the position at 6’3, I’m interested in seeing how the Coach Andre Hunter uses Ross early on as well as what position will suit him the best long-term within the framework of what SSSAS does at both ends of the floor
