A last-minute enrollee at Perkiomen this fall, Mathis could be key toward putting the Panthers back over the top in the PAISAA race with his poise and polish at the point of attack. Coming to the northeast for a post-grad year after an accomplished career at Lake Travis (TX), Mathis is a crisp ballhandler and decisionmaker who strikes a natural score-pass balance from the lead guard spot. He’s capable getting to the rim to score himself with either hand, while also keeping defenses honest as a smooth shooter out to the perimeter. With experience in FIBA play for Italy as the son of a D1 coach and former overseas pro, Mathis enters his post-grad year with clear pedigree and academic D1 programs already tracking him closely.
