Expert Analysis
Duvalier Johnson | Prep Hoops Scout
Jackson is a young, promising prospect who looks better each time that we see him. This weekend, it was his time to shine as he looks like he’s going to be an important piece for Kent Denver this year. He already has the size that separates him, but what I really like is his versatility, and it was on display in the two games I watched him. Jackson has a smooth shooting stroke from deep despite being a taller prospect. He hit multiple 3-pointers, hit a few clutch shots to keep Kent Denver in it, and also put the ball on the floor a bit as well, which they will need him to do. Kent Denver will be missing a ton of scoring from a season ago, and it will look completely different for them but it gives the younger guys more responsibility. Jackson is a player who I expect to make a massive leap this year, and his start to the summer should give him more on his plate to handle. Big season ahead.

Jackson dominated the junior varsity level for Kent Denver last season, averaging an impressive 20.6 points per game while consistently showing he could take over offensively. With the recent graduation of key seniors and needing size, the 6’5” big looks poised to step into a much bigger role. He has a strong frame, scores with confidence and keeps defenders off balance with polished footwork and smart moves in the post. Jackson understands how to create angles, finish through contact and capitalize around the rim. As he adjusts to varsity speed and physicality, his scoring ability and interior presence give him a real opportunity to make an immediate impact next season

is a player for Tru Colorado who quietly impacts the game for Tru Colorado but doesn’t have to score to do it. He used his size and length really well defensively, rotated over for blocks, altered shots, and covers space that most players at this level just don’t see yet. He plays with energy, talks on defense, and fills gaps when things start breaking down for his team and that is repeatable. The offensive game is still coming along, but the tools, effort, and defensive instincts give him a lot of long-term intrigue. I am sure that when it all comes together he’s going to be quite a player as he does it all and that was on display all weekend.

Jackson earns a rankings bump by cracking varsity as a freshman on a high-tempo team that is fresh off another state championship. The 6’4 forward runs the floor, spaces the court, and competes inside, fitting Kent Denver’s demanding style. This year is about growth, but his early trust from being the underclassman on varsity speaks volumes. If he continues developing as a rebounder and defender, he projects as a valuable piece that can crack the Top-15. High on him and now just want to see it.
