We’ve seen Tsai a couple of times now, and he just seems to be getting better and better. His feel is solid, he understands where to be on the floor, and he’s one of those prospects who can play multiple positions. He was getting out in transition and finishing, he was owning the glass and getting easy baskets on rebounds, and went right up. We saw him dominate for a few stretches on some iso baskets, he used the screen and attacked, and showed he could be the focal point of the offense. Tsai has a good understanding of the game, and that’s why his team was able to pick up a couple of wins around him. Solid weekend for him. 

Tsai continues to show growth and earn trust as a freshman. He finished with 7 points, but it was the little things that stood out. He applied relentless pressure defense, staying attached to his opponent and forcing backcourt turnovers. He also grabbed key offensive rebounds, extending possessions and making winning plays that don’t always show up in the box score

Tsai gets out quickly in transition and protects the ball efficiently, minimizing turnovers and maximizing scoring. Tsai closed out the summer strong, showcasing his ability to create off the dribble and consistently beat defenders to the basket. He finishes effectively around the rim and brings relentless energy on the defensive end, applying constant pressure and setting the tone for his team. Moving forward expanding his perimeter game and improving his jump shot will make him an even more versatile offensive threat. Continuing to leverage his defensive intensity and leadership will further solidify him as a two way impact player. With his skill set and work ethic, Tsai’s development trajectory is on the rise

He attacked the basket with confidence, driving and creating opportunities for himself and teammates. Tsai also scored from all three levels continually keeping opponents off balance. His combination of playmaking, scoring, and decision making made him a dynamic offensive threat throughout the event

Tsai brings relentless on ball defense, excellent footwork, and the ability to stay in front of his man. Offensively he can put the ball on the floor, attack off the dribble, use a soft floater, and finish at the rim. At the showcase we’ll be looking to see how he pressures the ball handler, turns defense into transition offense, and makes smart reads when attacking the lane. If he can pair his defensive energy with consistent scoring touches and decision making, Tsai could emerge as one of the most well rounded guards in the gym
