RJ is a true Big with a nice looking shooting stroke from beyond the arc. He can dominate near the rim with his natural size and strength. He seals well in the post and dominates smaller defenders. He likes to score with spins in the lane and a sweet jump hook. He has a good handle for a big and will push the ball off the rebound. He can extend his range to the three and will even hit it off the dribble. With his size, Skill and IQ he will turn heads all AAU season.
RJ Skewes showed flashes throughout the summer and in-season, there were opportunities as well. But the sophomore big man just delivered the best game of his young career with 15 points in the playoffs. The 6’6 forward can stretch the floor, operate inside, and his footwork stands out for a player his age. With Kent Denver needing contributions across the board, this is another chance for Skewes to step up.
Skewes impressed this summer with his versatility and interior presence. A mobile big who runs the floor and protects the paint, he alters shots, rebounds with force, and finishes through contact. Offensively, he stretches the floor with a reliable jumper and moves well within the offense. His size and agility give him major upside, and consistency at the varsity level could elevate his stock quickly.
Skewes was one of the bigger players at the event and had flashes of showing it with down-low dominance. He grabbed the board and kept the ball high, rebounded hard, and scored efficiently inside, but also stepped out and knocked down a three to surprise defenders. He ran the floor well, earning easy baskets in transition, and that stood out with his size. His size and ability to stretch the floor make him a player worth monitoring.
Skewes showcased his versatility in a big way last weekend, dominating across both the 14U and 15U levels. His combination of size and length made him a clear mismatch on both ends of the floor. He controlled the glass, altered shots with his timing and rim protection, and was a consistent presence in transition. Skews was running the floor with purpose and finishing plays. Offensively he was a true three level threat, knocking down shots from deep, hitting mid range looks, and finishing inside. His ability to impact the game in so many ways made him one of the most complete performers of the weekend
Skewes made his presence felt all over the court with an impressive combination of size, length, and skill. He dominated the glass, pulling down rebounds on both ends and protecting the rim with timely shot blocks. Offensively, Skewes showcased his versatility with running the floor in transition, finishing inside, and stepping out to knock down threes with confidence. His ability to score from anywhere on the floor, paired with his defensive presence, made him a matchup nightmare and a major impact player throughout the game
