2020 Rankings Update: Small Forwards/Wings
The group of Junior wings in Kentucky is probably the deepest position group in the class. Of the 3 kids with offers in 2020, 2 are wings and there are a few others who can end up at that level. Here’s a look at the top wings and small forwards in the 2020 class.
Jackson Sivills, McCracken County (Hoop Dreams 17u) – Jackson has about everything you look for in a wing scorer. He’s efficient with his shooting and has a super quick release on his shot. He excels going to his left but is more than capable of finishing with his right as well. Jackson’s frame looks like he could stretch out to about 6’7 or bigger over the next two years and should stay at or near the top of the Junior class rankings for the next two seasons.
Kenny White, Madisonville-North Hopkins (Hoop Dreams 17u) – Kenny has the potential to be a high major player and it appears he could be starting to turn the corner. At 6’8 and skilled, White is a matchup nightmare for opposing teams. Kenny has range out past the 3 point line and can get to the rim against almost any defender. White has the potential to be the best player in the class when his motor is running and just earned his first scholarship offers this week.
Howard Fleming, Male (Louisville Magic) – Fleming is another young man with a super high ceiling but needs to reach it. Howard has been limited by injuries over his career but he has been flashing signs of being a big time wing scorer and playmaker with the ball in his hands. Fleming has a ton of potential but needs to have a strong Junior season at Male with new coach Tim Haworth to really boost his stock.
Rashad Bishop, Ballard (The Ville) – Rashad is long and athletic and plays with a good motor. He sort of came out of nowhere recently and went from unranked to #13 overall in the class. Bishop is known more as a football stud but he could certainly have a future on the hardwood if he chose to go that route. I haven’t seen him enough yet to know what Rashad’s ceiling is as a basketball player but it looks pretty high. Looking forward to tracking Bishop over the next two years.
Terrin Hamilton, Scott County (M.A.T.T.S. Mustangs) – Hamilton has a ton of potential but needs to start turning potential into production. Terrin can handle the ball and is an excellent passer but he needs to improve as a shooter to transition to the next level. Hamilton should thrive playing alongside Michael Moreno and the loaded Scott County back court next season.
