Chaska Wins 18th Game in a Row

The Chaska Hawks haven't lost a game since before the new year, and that is now 18 games in a row after a Friday night win over Benilde-St. Margaret's 76-57.

Chaska is led by a pair of 2027 juniors guard [player_tooltip player_id='2126118' first='Tyler' last='Forrest'] and forward [player_tooltip player_id='2126143' first='Kalin' last='Jochum'] along with 2027 guard [player_tooltip player_id='2113031' first='Eli' last='Herzog'], 2028 sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='2561052' first='Chase' last='Maetzold'] and 2029 Freshman [player_tooltip player_id='2841981' first='Jed' last='Keenan'].

Keenan has scored at least 10 points in 12 of the 18 games during the streak. His size of being six-foot-five-inches gives him advantage against many teams along with his ability to shoot from the perimeter.

Forrest who sets the tone on offense and defense is the Hawks leader. His improved scoring has made the Hawks offense less predictable while he is still a pass first point guard. His ability to block shots from the guard position gives the Hawks a unique defensive advantage. Plus Forrest is very active with deflecting passes by getting in passing lanes and just being super active.

Maetzold is a six-foot-six-inch forward that scored 16 points for the Hawks against BSM. The 2028 sophomore stepped out beyond the arc a couple times to make two 3-pointers.

2026

[player_tooltip player_id='1560851' first='Hamze' last='Yusuf'] - The six-foot-one-inch 2026 Eden Prairie is averaging over 25 points a game for the Eagles and Friday night against Maple Grove he scored 29 points. Yusuf made two 3-pointers, one on a play that he got himself open into the court for a catch and shoot, and the other with the ball his hands coming a screen into a pull-up. Yusuf has a very effective speed drill and has shown good growth as a lead guard spot as a creator for others.

[player_tooltip player_id='1560739' first='Max' last='Iversen'] - The NDSU committed 2026 senior guard Iversen went for 28 points for Maple Grove against Eden Prairie Friday in their win. Iversen, who's scoring 19.3 points a game on the deeply talented Crimson roster has scored 24 or more in 5 of the last 6 games. Iversen knocked three triples in the game.

[player_tooltip player_id='1560769' first='Ethan' last='Sonju'] - The 2026 guard from Glencoe-Silver Lake scored 34 points in a win over Annandale Friday night. The six-foot-two-inch guard used a good dribble pull-up move to hit a mid-range shot in the lane. Sonju showed good aggressive attacks in transition putting Annandale on their heels. Sonju hit two first half 3-pointers that showed off his deep shooting range ability.

[player_tooltip player_id='2118459' first='Carson' last='McMichael'] - The six-foot-two-inch 2026 Blake guard put up his 3rd straight 30 or more point game Friday night with 34 points for Blake versus Breck. McMichael has been really hitting a large number of 3-pointers showcasing his perimeter shooting ability.

2027

[player_tooltip player_id='2140700' first='Tyrece' last='Hagler'] - Hagler scored 40 Points against St Anthony in a 85-54 win Friday night with three 3-pointers made. Hagler is a pretty good athlete on the perimeter and his quickness, strength and speed make him a tough cover. The 2027 six-foot-one-inch junior guard from RIchfield recorded 8 steals in the game.

[player_tooltip player_id='2126468' first='Blake' last='Betton'] - The six-foot-three-inch 2027 Shakopee wing with too many D1 football offers to count scored 21 points for the Sabres Friday night against Lakeville North. Betton showed ability to shoot from the perimeter with two 3-pointers and he used his athletic ability to grab 6 rebounds. Betton can physically guard up against forwards and his speed and quickness make him able to guard on the perimeter.

[player_tooltip player_id='2126448' first='Colton' last='Purcell'] - Purcell is coming off a football season in which he surpassed 1,000 yards receiving and 15 TD catches. The six-foot-two-inch 2027 junior guard scored 25 points against GSL Friday night. Purcell is difficult to slow down when he gets downhill off the dribble and is a solid, physical bodied guard. Purcell seems to really be shooting from the perimeter more and at a higher percentage this season.

2028

[player_tooltip player_id='2560540' first='Willie' last='Wright Jr']. - Wright is a 2028 sophomore guard from Minnetonka that scored 23 points versus Wayzata Friday night. Wright is a very good catch and shoot spot-up shooter from the perimeter, good ball handler, and shows solid quickness in tight spaces.

2029

[player_tooltip player_id='2455802' first='Cobe' last='Blades'] - The fast and speedy point guard from Breck scored a career high 17 points in double OT win over Blake Friday night. Blades plays aggressively on the perimeter as a defender and slashes with good aggression to the rim when he has the ball.
