I watched several games from different leagues within the area last week and wanted to take the time out to recognize some of the top performers. College coaches constantly are on the lookout for skilled wings that can play multiple positions, excel on both the offensive and defensive end of the floor, and can get their own scoring within the flow of the game. Let's break down a few of the top impactful wing prospects that stood out to me last week!

-Really well-rounded performance from Duncan in a 2OT win over PGCA. Duncan's tenacity on the offensive glass and vertical leaping ability were a real weapon in this one to impact winning for the Lions. Duncan executed a well-timed face cut to secure a catch in traffic after landing on 2 feet to stick the and1 lay, caught a pocket pass off the BLOB and parlayed it into a power hop across the lane for the and1 lay, flew out to block a three, and closed out several key positions in the extra frames with defensive rebounds. Loved his motor from start to finish in this one and think he has an opportunity to play his way into a scholarship as the perimeter skills continue to develop.

-Really good effort in extended run for Sagba with some of the Lions' frontcourt depth sitting this game out. Sagba performed well as an undersized 4 man that fights for position to be in the right spot for rebounds at both ends of the floor. Loved his activity as an off-ball mover that cuts to the rim really well from the opposite elbow or from the short corner to be an easy target for dropoffs around the basket. Sagba also showed pretty good defensive mobility, showing well on ball screens to effectively trap ballhandlers before recovering to his matchup in the paint to prevent easy buckets. The finishing ability in vulnerable spots underneath the rim has also really improved to give him extended minutes to show what he can do on the floor.

-Carter has been thrown into the fire here this season as a junior tasked with leading the team with Mundey heading to Texas A&M as an early enrollee. And he's performed well, continuing to knock down shots from the perimeter while handling more on-ball creation responsibilities from the top of the key. Carter started things off with a C+S corner 3, forced a turnover on the sideline by staying home then swiping it off his opp, used a low pickup to get into the extension off balance lay at the rim on multiple occasions, and came off the Iverson at a sharp angle to hit the extension lay to go ahead in 2OT for good. Carter's length really comes in handy as a rebounder that came up with some big defensive boards in traffic to close out possessions down the stretch for the Flyers. Love his long-term upside as a wing that can impact the game on both ends of the floor whether he is in the top 3 for a group or in more of a supporting role as an unselfish player that plays winning basketball.

-The St. Mary's College commit had some great flashes throughout a close loss at home to Catonsville. Diehl knocked down a C+S 3 in transition, ripped through from the wing to draw a foul in paint (hit both FTs), threw a beautiful one-handed dime to roller in the paint from the wing, drove from the corner to score the lefty lay off the window, hit his defender with a pump fake and stepped under the closeout to hit a 3 from the top of the key, and scored two big free throws to make it a three-point game under two minutes. His ability to keep defenses honest with drives to space and guard multiple positions on the defensive end of the floor makes him a valuable leader for a scrappy, undersized Hereford group.

-Greenwood continues to impress as a leader for a Westminster team that is beginning to find their way. He hit a runner in the paint, knocked down a C+S 3 in transition, secured a tough catch in traffic to finish at the rim in transition through the foul contact, and face cut well from the wing before taking one dribble and hitting the baseline jumper. His ability to get into his jumper quickly off the bounce or in transition makes him a prospect to watch in the 2026 class. Local D2s have offered and continue to make a strong push for the sweet-shooting wing as he looks to close his senior season out strong.

-Wallsten will likely be a riser in our next rankings update for the 2027 class as a perimeter sniper that is beginning to round out his floor game as a wing prospect with some upside. Wallsten shoots it well from all 3 levels and has worked hard to quicken his jumper's gather and release point to get shots off much more cleanly off the catch, off movement, and off the dribble. An unselfish passer from the perimeter that can see over most of the defenders in his league, his ability to make plays from a standstill unlocks the Bulldogs' ability to play their three W/F prospects at the same time. With the size and improving lateral mobility, he's working towards being a switchable threat on the defensive end that can guard 3-5.
