Dixon showed his ability to create his own shot off the bounce, scoring efficiently from all 3 levels while also earning double digit FTA. An improved handle has led to an improved ability to attack closeouts and mix it up with bigs in the paint while he has also improved his burst with the ball in his hands. Expect him to form one of the best backcourts in the area this season alongside Bivins.

-Back to back 40-ball scoring performances for a prospect that should be the best player for JM this year with a new HC in place. Tomlin used his quickness to jump passes lanes and race to the other end of the floor to finish with emphatic dunks above the rim. Tomlin seems to be taking a more simplistic approach to scoring this season as a dynamic slasher that is also capable of knocking down open C+S looks from the perimeter. His raw athleticism really shone bright as he dominated the competition in the open court as both a passer on the ball or a wing scorer running to the corners. Would like to see his handle continue to improve in the halfcourt to take advantage of the back foot burst/long strides to make him an even more effective slasher.

15p 2r 1a 2s vs Mt. Zion; 26p 2r 5s vs Highland

-One of the most improved players in the area really impressed in both games as the leading scorer for his team in new threads with StJ. Terrell showed the full arsenal of his offensive skillset: hitting floaters off of 1 and 2 feet, hit stepback 3s with a really fluid pickup motion, threw a 1-handed push pass off the bounce with some zip on it to an open teammate under the rim, hit 2 dribble pull-ups, did a great job of attacking closeouts to finish past the opponent at the rim, and showed a nice bag of finishing moves and pivots around the basket to score over or just past the defense. He's really worked on his body to be a more explosive downhill driver while maintaining the touch on his shots in and around the basket that require elite finesse. Should be one of the biggest national stockrisers in the area this season.

11p 7a 7r 1s vs StJ; 8p 8a 3r 3s vs Mt. Zion

-Asare has really, really made strides as a creator in the halfcourt by showing his improved vision. He's seeing plays and setting his teammates up in tight windows but also hitting singles with 1-more dimes from the wing to the corner shooter. Love how he is picking his spots to score on the ball to as he continued to demonstrate that he is a consistent midrange scorer that doesn't need a ball screen to get to his spots. Also really loved his competitive fire at both ends of the court as his team won big matchups in both games that I saw.

10p 4r 1a 2s vs Woodside; 7p 2r 1s vs Massanutten

-It's been a pleasure seeing the development from Rucker even just from the end of last season to today as an intriguing wing prospect. He has really smoothened out his movement skills as a prospect that is starting to take his man off the bounce with much more frequency while also showing an ability to slide those puppies at the other end of the floor in ball screen coverages. Rucker should serve as an impactful cutter in the halfcourt that can finish plays above the rim but also has finesse finishes in his bag with up n under's, runners, and floaters. If he can add weight to his frame and extend his range to beyond the three point line-- I think his recruitment will take off and he should be an X factor for the Knights this season.

7p 1a 3r 1s vs O'Connell

-Smalling overcame a slow 1H to show some moxie as a player that continued to play hard to the final whistle for his team. Smalling hit an open 3, hit the offensive glass, collected a steal and kicked ahead to a teammate for a transition bucket, and played with a much better motor to show that he was going to go down swinging. Smalling also showed improved play-making shots with the ball in his hands but couldn't be credited with many assists as his team struggled shooting from the floor against an active Knights defense. Smallings willingness to guard up a position or two should serve his team well this season after they graduated most of their frontcourt depth this summer.

9p 3a 1r 4s vs Massanutten

-McCoy turned in the most well-rounded performance of the day for the Panthers as a dynamic guard that can play both on and off the ball. McCoy started things off with a beautiful drive n kick to a shooter, threw a baseline skip to corner shooter a few possessions later, collected a steal off the ball and laid it up at the other end, and hit a perfect finger roll off the window as he floated past his defender in midair. McCoy is a guard made in Coach Myles' image as an active piranha of a defender on the ball that switches ends quickly as soon as he turns his matchup over in the halfcourt. Should make a name for himself as a consistent contributor in the SFA guard rotation.

6p 1r 2s vs Highland

-Kennedy played well in new threads for MZN as a hustle guy that made a big impact on the momentum of the game off the bench for the Warriors. Kennedy sit the tone early when he picked his matchup at halfcourt and laid it up at the other end then flew in for the O board a minute later and laid it in through contact for the And-1 bucket that put MZN a lead midway through the 2H. His ability to provide ball pressure at the defensive end of the floor and find opportunities to attack the gaps at the offensive end speaks to the work ethic that he brings to the game each night.
