In my opinion, the gap between Josh and everyone else is widening. Lindsay is one of the best athletes to come through the state in my time covering it. He's also continuing to improve as a shooter and ball handler. Hyper-competitive, Josh is always at camps and events and consistently among the best players at every event he attends.

Cook has a truckload of potential and high major schools have started to take notice. Boogie has great positional size and is a big time athlete. It should be a breakout season for the CAL standout and he could thrive under new coach Tim Riley. Boogie was recently ranked in the top 50 in America and is another player that we should probably appreciate while he's in Kentucky.

One of the biggest stock risers in the last year or so in the state, Hillerich would be the top player in most Kentucky classes. Big and starting to fill out, Trey is an excellent shot blocker and is comfortable playing inside or out. He's also still growing and could be a face up or stretch 5 when the dust settles on his growth and development. With his skill level, Hillerich could be the ultimate difference maker in the 7th region title race this year.

Another big time prospect, Mitchell is another player who would be among the best players in your typical Kentucky class. Jordan continues to grow and is trending towards being a big point guard at the next level. To me, Mitchell is the best passer in this class and excels at pushing the ball ahead in transition. With his size, Jordan is very switch-able on defense too.

Jordan continues to be one of my favorite players in this class but for him to continue to see high major schools offering him, Jackson will have to transition over to being a big 3 or a 4 man. His skill level keeps growing but Jordan needs to get the hitch out of his jumper to reach his ceiling, in my opinion. One thing I have learned is that Jackson is a very hard worker and is likely to be one of the best players in Kentucky for the next 3 years.

Terry is moving out to the wing more and more every time I see him play. Improving as a shooter and getting more comfortable putting the ball on the floor, Andrew has started to see his college stock take off in the last 6 months. I think he has a very high prospect floor and is going to have a big Sophomore season for Montgomery County this year.

Known for his ability to shoot the ball at a high level, Sears has recently added several D1 offers. A hard worker who has "in the gym" range and the confidence to shoot the ball from anywhere, Austin is likely the best high volume shooter in the class at this early stage in his career. Primarily a shooting guard right now, I look forward to seeing Sears playing primarily as a point guard and seeing how well he can defend his position. Ultimately, that will determine his college level.

A strong wing player who has gotten bigger and better in the last year, Austin is continuing to improve his all around game. A diligent worker with a big time motor, Davie will need to show that he can excel as a knockdown shooter to avoid being labeled as a small forward. Once he gets in front of more college coaches, I wouldn't be shocked to see Davie earn multiple D1 offers in the next calendar year.

Brady has managed to evolve his game over the last year and continues to improve and is starting to look like a mismatch issue for 11th region foes this season. Orem is comfortable both inside and out and won't hesitate to go back to his post player roots and exploit a mismatch. Once on the perimeter, Brady is comfortable attacking the rim with the ball in his hands. He's got a chance to be a really good player the next 3 years and projects as a D1 player down the line.

Stuart is on top of my list of players who have a lot to show this high school season. Blessed with great size as a stretch big, Everett could be a gigantic X factor in Lexington if he turns the corner in his development. He has all the tools to be a big wing or stretch big. Catholic typically doesn't play younger players a ton but they will need Stuart to be good right away this season if they want to push Station, Douglass and Madison Central for the regional crown. Keep an eye on Everett in both the long and short term.
