With this year's Prep Hoops Sophomore ID Camp in the books, it's time to spotlight the players who rose above the pack and demanded attention. These six members of the Class of 2028 stood out for their skills, athleticism, and ability to make plays that turn heads. They're the type of ballers you'll want to keep tabs on as their games continue to grow.

Back on August 30th at the Impact Sports Center in Sioux Falls, SD, the PH Soph ID Camp provided a glimpse into the next wave of talent. Prep Hoops Dakotas is taking a step back to recognize the six sensations who left a lasting impression and proved they belong on the radar moving forward.

Six Soph Sensations

When it came to running the show at the Sophomore ID Camp, Ziemer stole the spotlight. One of the elite point guards in attendance, Ziemer put together a dazzling performance that highlighted his poise, vision, and ability to control the game from start to finish.

Ziemer's handle and creativity with the ball were on full display. He kept defenders off balance by constantly shifting gears, changing speeds, and mixing in sharp crossovers. Whether attacking right or left, he had no trouble getting into the lane, collapsing the defense, and creating opportunities for his teammates. His passing was nothing short of elite—threading the needle in transition, dropping dimes out of pick-and-roll action, and setting up shooters with perfect timing.

But he wasn't just a facilitator. Ziemer proved he could score it himself, knocking down pull-up jumpers, drilling a three off the bounce, and finishing around the rim with smooth touch. He looked just as comfortable pulling up from midrange as he did taking it coast-to-coast for a bucket.

Defensively, he showed toughness and instincts, jumping a passing lane with a quick recovery and disrupting possessions with his hustle. That kind of effort combined with his offensive command made him one of the most complete guards at the event.

Simply put, Ziemer played like a floor general with flair—a guy who not only made the right plays but also made them look good. He put on a show, and it's clear he has all the tools to be a difference-maker as one of the top guards in the 2028 class.

The Prep Hoops Sophomore ID Camp confirmed what many already knew—Mr. Austin is the real deal. Ranked as the top prospect in North Dakota's 2028 Class, Austin put on a show as one of the most sensational players, blending elite playmaking, jaw-dropping athleticism, and a polished skill set that makes him nearly impossible to guard.

Austin's versatility jumped off the page. He knocked down NBA-range triples with ease, but he was just as dangerous putting the ball on the deck—using double moves, fake-crosses, and sharp changes of direction to break down defenders and get to his spots. His ability to score from deep, slash through traffic, or finish with hang-time artistry around the rim gives him a complete offensive arsenal.

What really sets him apart is how he impacts the game in every phase. Defensively, Austin showed his length, instincts, and toughness, guarding bigger opponents, deflecting passes, and jumping passing lanes to create turnovers. On the glass, he played well above his size—snatching boards, timing put-backs, and even tipping in shots with one hand.

In transition, he was electric. Austin turned defensive rebounds into coast-to-coast pushes, dished slick assists to shooters like Brewer, and capped off one sequence with a high-flying one-handed slam that sent energy through the Impact Center. His vision and unselfishness stood out; he consistently found open teammates with swing passes and quick dimes out of penetration.

Austin has the look of a special two-way star—a player who can fill up the box score, elevate his teammates, and take over when needed. With his combination of athleticism, playmaking, and skill, it's no surprise he sits atop the 2028 North Dakota rankings. Simply put, Austin is the kind of talent you build a program around.

Mcinerney turned heads at the Sophomore ID Camp as one of the most sensational players in attendance, blending elite scoring ability with athleticism that made him a matchup nightmare. The southpaw guard impressed with his ability to attack both sides of the floor, using quick first steps, sharp spins, and smart reads to create buckets for himself and open looks for teammates.

Offensively, Lincoln is a prolific shooter, hitting deep threes well beyond college range, nailing mid-range jumpers, and finishing through contact at the rim. He also demonstrated a high basketball IQ, delivering precise swing passes and kickouts in transition, helping his teammates capitalize on defensive rotations. His speed in the open court and smooth handling made him a constant threat on the break, while his savvy on-ball awareness—picking off passes and tipping balls away—added value on defense.

What truly set him apart was the combination of skill, explosiveness, and decision-making. Mcinerney not only put points on the board but also controlled the tempo, creating for others and showing off sprinter-like speed in full-court situations. With his mix of scoring, passing, and athleticism, he established himself as one of the most exciting and complete performers at the camp—a true scoring machine and top shooter to watch in the Class of 2028.

Booth was an absolute force at the Sophomore ID Camp, standing out as one of the most sensational players and clearly one of the elite BIGs and top-tier athletes in attendance. His size and length instantly pop off the floor, but what separates him is how well he combines his physical tools with interior play, mobility, and skill.

From the jump, Booth showed why he's a difference-maker in the paint. He controlled the glass with powerful rebounding, high-pointing boards and battling for second-chance opportunities, often finishing with tip-ins or strong pivot moves around the hoop. His ability to score through contact, spin out of double-teams, and finish “bully-ball” style plays made him one of the toughest covers inside.

But Booth isn't just a post presence—he proved he can run the floor like a wing, filling lanes, finishing in transition, and even leading the break himself to create assists for teammates. He flashed perimeter range by knocking down a trail three and displayed excellent court vision with smart kick-outs from the block to open shooters. Defensively, his presence was felt all over—contesting shots, swatting attempts, and closing passing lanes with his length and reaction time.

What really impressed was how complete his performance looked—he set strong ball screens, created space for guards, made hustle plays on the offensive glass, and even delivered an alley-oop finish that showed off his athleticism. When the game tightened up, Booth stayed poised, knocking down a key free throw late to help secure the win.

Simply put, Booth checked every box. With his combination of size, athleticism, toughness, and skill, he has the tools to be a dominant BIG in the Class of 2028 and beyond.

Few players owned the paint at the Sophomore ID Camp the way [player_tooltip player_id='2437990' first='Tanner' last='Wagner'] did. The powerful post presence proved to be one of the dominant interior forces of the event, showing a blend of size, strength, and efficient finishing that made him a handful for any defender.

Wagner brought an old-school toughness to the block, carving out space, sealing defenders, and finishing through contact with ease. His ability to use both hands—particularly finishing with his left—made him unpredictable and nearly impossible to stop once he got inside position. Spin moves, drop-steps, and physical baseline attacks showcased his footwork, while his relentlessness on the glass ensured second-chance opportunities all game long.

What stood out beyond his scoring power was his willingness to share the ball. Tanner showed great vision for a big man, delivering kickouts to shooters, making smart reads out of the post, and even leading the break off defensive rebounds. That combination of strength and unselfishness elevated his impact.

Add in Wagner's ability to roll effectively out of ball screens, draw fouls, and run the floor, and Wagner established himself as a beast on the block and one of the most effective low-post players in the gym. His physicality and all-around presence cemented his place as one of the sensational performers of the camp.

Terry was nothing short of sensational at the Sophomore ID Camp, cementing his place as one of the elite shooters in the gym. The smooth southpaw not only proved he can score it from all over the floor, but he also flashed the full package of skill, scoring, athleticism, and confidence that sets him apart.

From NBA-range triples—including one with his foot nearly on the volleyball line—to tough step-backs and catch-and-shoot looks, Terry's shooting display was jaw-dropping. Once he got rolling, defenders had no answers as he consistently buried shots with a high, soft arc. But it wasn't just his shooting—he also made plays off the bounce, attacking closeouts, getting deep into the lane, and finishing with crafty floaters.

On the defensive end, Terry showed great anticipation with active hands and multiple on-ball steals, turning them into transition buckets, including a lefty flush that electrified the gym. He also moved the ball well, creating for teammates with kick-outs and pick-and-roll reads, proving he's more than just a scorer. His hustle was evident, too, as he attacked the glass for offensive boards in both half-court and transition situations.

Simply put, Terry was one of the most impressive players in the building. His ability to shoot the lights out, create offense, and bring energy on both ends made him a sensational playmaker and a name to circle from the Class of 2028.
