About Stephon
Expert Analysis
Michael Herrick | Prep Hoops Scout
Steph is a hardworking, long, strong, physical, and explosive athlete. He is a BIG and the best part is, Booth wants to be an inside BIG! Steph is not afraid to bang inside and play physical basketball. He is a tireless rebounder on both ends, a versatile defender, a great help-defender, and an effective rim-protector. His footwork keeps improving and his shooting percentage continues to rise. Steph is no stranger to making coast-to-coast plays. He also throws down rim-rocking dunks on the regular. Booth hoops with a great attitude and is super coachable. College coaches need to give Steph a major look.

Stephon excels operating out of the dunker spot or rolling to the hoop with this Pack 16u team. He has physical tools that you just can’t teach, standing at 6’8 with a strong frame, long arms, and the ability to get off the floor quickly to make plays at the rim. Playing alongside some talented guards he always has his hands ready to catch around the rim and immediately power his way up to finish. Strong shoulders allow him to absorb contact and still convert inside. I also like the effort he puts in to run the floor, and he’s often rewarded with easy transition dunks.

Steph is a player to watch this weekend thanks to his combination of length, athleticism, and production. He immediately passes the eye test, using his size and explosiveness to impact the game on both ends of the floor. Booth has put together a strong spring and is trending toward being a consistent Double-Double threat. He rebounds at a high level, plays with a relentless motor, and finishes with power while still showing body control and touch around the rim. His toughness and resilience stand out, as he competes hard every possession and doesn’t shy away from contact. Booth’s ability to control the glass, score efficiently, and bring energy makes him a high-impact player and one that college coaches will want to get a close look at.
