About Shawn

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a highIQ combo guard who brings elite physical and mental skills. Offensively, I am an efficient shooter, I attack closeouts well, and make sharp decisions through my IQ. Defensively, I play with a high motor, effort, and talk loudly. I compete with relentless effort on both ends of the floor and play my role at a high level, acting as an extension of the coach through constant communication.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I work hard and strive to improve everyday with consistency. I am positive to my coaches and teammates whom I uplift. I study basketball everyday to gain knowledge and a deep understanding of the game to prepare for for the collegiate level.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I have received multiple awards for my academics. I qualified for NSHSS making me a national high school scholar. I am an continuous honor roll achiever.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I am a team player, unselfish, and a hard worker. I am positive and search for the best possible solution to a problem. I love to setup and involve my teammates.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

When I started out playing basketball I was never one of the top guys. I put this aside and worried about my game, consistently working on my craft. I am improving everyday and am achieving milestones, but I am just getting started.

What type of college are you looking for?

I want to play collegiate basketball at a school with strong academics and athletics.

Zaheer was a player who stood out to me as he’s a player whose game went beyond the box score. In the game that I watched, he stood out as a confident scorer who understands how to find space and capitalize. He moved well without the ball, slipped into gaps, and stayed ready to shoot. Zaheer added value by getting out in transition and converting easy opportunities, and he had a few of those moments. His ability to space the floor and create offense within the flow gives him real value as a scoring option, and he was a new name that jumped onto my radar.
