About Tre
Expert Analysis
Doneah Marshall | Prep Hoops Scout
When it comes to toughness, Mack stands tall with the best of them as shown by the key defensive tasks he was assigned throughout the season. Eastern needed much more from him down the stretch, however, and he delivered more often than not. The freshman guard put up 12 PTS on 4/6 shooting from the field in Eastern’s quarterfinal heartbreak, including connecting on both of his 3PT attempts. In addition to his scoring contributions in tournament play, he handled facilitation duties with poise in a high-stakes environment. Mack and

Tre is more of a floor general point guard who is better at running an offense than forcing his own. Mack has a high basketball IQ and is capable of defending opposing guards 94 feet on the other end. Tre has to continue improving his perimeter shooting to reach his ceiling. I think he projects well as a table setter on the offensive end who operates as a floor raiser for those around him.

Mack has found his groove as a playmaker for a talented and balanced Eastern team. Handed the keys to the Eagles offense already, Tre is showing he can facilitate with the best of them and score when he needs to. A good enough shooter to keep defenses honest, Mack is showing himself to be a top 2029 in Louisville.

Mack has generated a lot of buzz as a freshman and it’s easy to see why as he’s already scoring the basketball at a high level at the varsity level. The lefty Mack actually appeared more comfortable using his right hand on layups and floaters, one of those floaters came just before the buzzer of a quarter. I also liked that Mack quickly advanced the basketball up the court with outlet passes to help start the fast break. Mack is one of the smallest players on the court and his physical development will be the most important aspect of his game to monitor over the next few years. One of the more talented 2029 guards in Kentucky!

Mack is a name that has been known in the 2029 class for several years already. Hold an offer from San Jose State going into his freshman season, Tre is a name to monitor as a potential impact player in Louisville this season after playing at Taylor County for the early portion of the season last year. A guard who excels at attacking in the open court, Mack put up very solid shooting splits of 42-35-90 in 10 games at Taylor last season. If he can replicate those numbers moving forward, Tre will put up a bunch of points at Eastern this season.

What he lacks in size is made up for with basketball IQ. Tre is a smooth player who can score or facilitate.
