2029 Rankings: Potential Stars Outside the Top 40

The 2029 class is deep with talent and more and more names are emerging all the time. Looking at the class as a whole, there are several players further down the list who could be future stars. Here's a look at some of the potential stars who are currently ranked outside the top 40.    Harbin is a talented scorer who can get buckets at every level. Luke has a high IQ and is capable of scoring or creating for others. As a freshman, Harbin only saw the varsity floor for one game but I think he could be a starting caliber guard in the 8th region as soon as this season. When he gets the opportunity, I expect Luke to provide an offensive spark for the Titans.     Jaylen was one of my favorite players at the freshman showcase last fall and is primed for a much bigger role this season with the Blue Devils. Henry Clay is going to be very young this year. Hill and fellow Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='2998742' first='Allen' last='Dixon'] should be vital pieces of the roster alongside Senior Richard Goatley. Look for Jaylen to play with the ball in his hands quite a bit and likely score a lot of points.     Wheeldon is another player who really impressed me last fall. Benton showed he can really shoot the ball from deep at our camp last fall and should get more opportunities as a Sophomore than the 10 games he played as a Freshman. With good positional size and a nice shooting stroke, Wheeldon should be in the mix to be a top Sophomore in the 4th region.     A newcomer in the rankings with this update, Craig has the potential to be a big time breakout player for a Rockcastle County. A stretch big who can shoot it at a high clip from range, Wyatt needs to improve his ball handling and overall skill level to make a big leap as a Sophomore. His older brother, Walker, graduated and is now playing at Pikeville and the younger Craig will need to step up and help fill that void and keep Rockcastle County in the 12th region race.     Thompson made the decision to transfer from Ballard and enroll at Eastern for his Sophomore season. With fellow Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='2851890' first='Tre' last='Mack'] manning the point guard position, look for Kam to play off the ball as well as being the backup point for the Eagles. Thompson is a skilled guard who should have ample opportunity to contribute as a Sophomore.
