Yates had an excellent freshman season at Shortridge and will now follow his Dad who became the head coach at Tindley High School. The 6’3″-6’4″ wing has great size on the perimeter and uses it well to create mismatch problems. That was certainly the case on Saturday even while Tindley was otherwise overmatched against Center Grove. Yates still found success driving to the basket, scoring inside, and passing to open teammates at the end of his drives.

The physical tools and length that this young prospect possesses gets you interested right away. He is the fourth leading scorer on a solid Blue Devils squad averaging 8.4 points and a team-high 8.0 rebounds per game. Yates is very willing to mix it up around the basket on both ends of the floor.
