Groveport Madison Vs Columbus South 12:00 P.M.

[player_tooltip player_id='1901264' first='Tyreke' last='Ruffin'] is the key name to know for Groveport Madison, he's been a key piece of their team since he was a freshman. On the Columbus South side, they graduated some key seniors from last year so I'll be learning about their new look roster during this season opening game.

Newark Vs Akron Buchtel 1:45 P.M.

Newark is a program of consistency and their star [player_tooltip player_id='1832081' first='Braylon' last='Morris'] is ready to lead one of the most historic programs in the state of Ohio. Buchtel on the other hand is looking to reload with a few notable transfers from out of state. [player_tooltip player_id='2476490' first='Nico' last='Mack'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2341295' first='Chris' last='Powell'] are big time talents who will make Buchtel must watch this winter.

Pickerington North Vs Cincinnati Taft 3:30 P.M.

Cincinnati Taft won on the gridiron tonight so they'll have another football playoff game the day before this game. That means they'll be shorthanded for this season opening game but Taft is always scrappy and competes defensively. For Pickerington North, they'll be led by a guard duo of [player_tooltip player_id='1432005' first='Arness' last='Lawson'] and Jr Bates.

Olentangy Liberty Vs Lutheran East 5:15 P.M.

Lutheran East is one of the youngest teams in the state so it will be interesting to see how they come out of the gates as the Falcons always challenge themselves with a tough schedule. [player_tooltip player_id='1705939' first='Tj' last='Crumble'] is back and he's surrounded by guard talent in [player_tooltip player_id='2144496' first='Chris' last='Hill'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2461889' first='Dylan' last='Zeigler']. They'll take on an Olentangy Liberty squad that has a lot of size to compete in the paint. Northwestern commit [player_tooltip player_id='1480851' first='Tyler' last='Kropp'] is one of the top bigs in the state and the Patriots also added [player_tooltip player_id='2125747' first='Jeffrey' last='Reynolds'] this season as well.

Richmond Heights Vs Westerville North 7:00 P.M.

This is the year for Westerville North to make a run, they have experience, depth and size. Akron commit [player_tooltip player_id='1480850' first='Tai' last='Perkins'] and Concord commit [player_tooltip player_id='1432010' first='Micah' last='Young'] lead Westerville North against the three-time defending state champs in Richmond Heights. Lots of talent on the court but I'll be most curious how Westerville North handles the pressure the Spartans will throw at them.

Toledo Whitmer @ Reynoldsburg 8:45 P.M.

I'm pumped for this game, Whitmer and Reynoldsburg are my second and third ranked teams in my Division I preseason rankings. There are two Division I commits on each side and another three 2026 prospects with Division I offers as well. Put it simply, this game is star studded with talent and should have an excellent atmosphere to close out the event on Saturday. Pumped to see who stands out in a game like this.
