Will Armishaw | Prep Hoops Scout
Hadden, a forward out of CATS Academy in Massachusetts, is the #2 ranked power forward and checks in at #7 overall. A physically developed 6’4″ forward with long arms, he’s at his best in space, where he can use his quickness and strength to attack defenders off the bounce while getting to the rim. He finishes with soft touch over size, has the ability to get by the initial defender in isolations, and shows good instincts on the offensive glass. He’s a multi-positional defender that can guard on the wing or in the paint, does a nice job of quickly taking away space, and plays with a good motor on the glass. Some of his development will occur out of sight, as he’s part of a loaded program at CATS Academy, but he’s definitely one to watch in the coming years.

Hadden is one of the top underclassmen in the region and has the chance to make an impact at the highest level of prep ball this winter. The CATS Academy wing has been a name to know in New England since he entered middle school, but took his game to another level this summer. The improvements he made as a creator with the ball in his hands really stood out, pushing his game further onto the wing and away from just being a post finisher. He has a sturdy frame, good athletic pop, and the ability to go by defenders off the bounce. He’s impressed as a downhill driver and is now making shots from behind the arc in catch and shoot situations, as well as off the bounce, turning himself into a true three level scorer.

Hadden is super impressive for an eighth grader. The 6-foot-4 wing moves fluidly for his size and showcases speed and athleticism when moving up and down the floor. He also uses his ridiculously long arms to finish out and over larger defenders with both hands. I didn’t see him take many outside shots, but the eighth grader has lots of time to get that part of his game shored up. Hadden is already at CATS Academy and is a typical player that’ll find success there; big, long, athletic, and plays hard. Very bright future ahead for what will probably end up being a scholarship-level wing if he stays with it.

Hadden, already a well known prospect in Massachusetts, has an incredibly versatile skillset that combines well with his athleticism and strong frame. As a prospect, he’ll most likely eventually be recognized as a wing, but for now shines both inside the paint and out of it. He’s strong, has a well-developed frame, and plays with a high motor. He’s capable of scoring at all three levels and is an impressive ball-handler in the open floor. He does a good job of getting downhill off the bounce and can make plays for both himself and others. Defensively, he’s capable of guarding up and down a lineup, making an impact with his lateral mobility on the perimeter and with his physicality and aggressiveness in the paint. He’s headed to a highly competitive program at CATS Academy and should have the chance to continue to develop at a rapid rate.
