Yalamanchili is a project, but a super intriguing one at that. He scored tons of points Monday night by way of his size and length—he’s 6-foot-6 with long arms, so he’s able to dominate on the boards against younger and smaller high school players. But the junior also showcased the ability to use crafty footwork and ball handling on the perimeter to maneuver his way into the paint, and he had some really solid finishes once he got there. He needs to get a lot stronger and more balanced on his drives to the rim if he wants to be an effective college player, but he has a senior season and a potential post-grad year to do so.
