Expert Analysis
Ari Rosenfeld | Prep Hoops Scout
One of the more naturally talented players across the district, Jajua is the leader for a Pennsbury team that will enter states as either the 9th or 10 place team out of District 1. A long and slithery guard, he packs a real punch with the ball in his hands, using a shifty handle and quick first step to create consistent separation off the bounce. He shows hints of explosiveness with impressive dexterity near the rim and is developing into a dangerous pullup shooter with a high release that’s tough for opposing guards to bother. Jajua plays with consistent energy and shows impressive vocal leadership qualities for an underclassman. He’s still learning to impose his will on games consistently but has every chance to develop into a D1 guard in the years to come.

The leader on the perimeter for Pennsbury, Jajua was held quiet for much of the game but still managed to flash his considerable talent with the ball in his hands. A rangy combo guard with alluring fluidity to his movements, he showed his ability to get north-south with a shifty handle and natural dexterity as a finisher near the rim. Jajua is also developing into an increasingly consistent shooter, evidenced by a pair of smooth high-release midrange pullups. He’ll have to learn how to impose his will on games as he matures, but the talent is evident and gives Jajua a real chance at D1 recruitment down the line.

As with any freshman point guard, there were bumps in the road at times, but Jajua mixed in plenty flashes of brilliance to provide optimism for the future while stepping into a starting role from his first day in high school. Back with a year of experience under his belt, he looks to emerge as one of the district’s top players and most intriguing long-term prospects. A rangy lead guard still coming into his own, he uses a smooth, shifty bob-and-weave style attack off the bounce to touch the paint consistently off the dribble. He’s still developing his feel as a true table-setter and refining his jump shot, but the upside is very apparent nonetheless as Jajua adds strength and experience in the years to come.

Last weekend Team Final ‘s young bucks played at the Jersey Jam Fest as a warmup for the Gym Rat Live event. The squad gelled quickly and posted a 2-0 record. One of the reasons for that success was the outstanding play of Jajua. This athletic and versatile prospect owns fantastic end-to-end speed. That asset combined with his elusive dribbling moves and his court vision enable Jajua to pilot the fast break for scores and assists. Once he decides to finish a break himself, Jajua can convert through contact. On half-court possessions, Jajua can score off the bounce and is a legitimate 3-point threat. An underrated aspect of Jajua’s game is his ability to work the offensive glass for second chance points.
