The 2026 class received big news this morning as star guard Chidi Nwigwe transferred from St. Benedict's to Sunrise Christian. The guard crop is still filled with talent who can make an impact at the next level. Here are the new top 2026 shooting guard prospects.

[player_tooltip player_id='1580578' first='Jayden' last='Hodge'], 6'5 St. Rose

Hodge is the top shooting guard in the 2026 class with Nwigwe's transfer out of state and is looking to hold his spot at the top this summer. The 6'5 guard plays with poise on the ball as he rarely gets sped up by on-ball pressure and can find his open teammates in the halfcourt. Hodge can finish in a variety of ways around the basket. He pushes the pace nicely in transition and plays with good anticipation on the defensive end. Hodge is a skilled guard prospect who should make plays at both ends of the floor throughout July.

[player_tooltip player_id='1595674' first='Aiden' last='Derkack'], 6'5 Colonia

Derkack has had a strong spring and is looking to carry it over into July. The 6'5 guard explodes off the floor for dunks and is unafraid of drawing contact around the basket. Derkack uses his size to see over his defender and has a nice touch in the mid-range. He is a strong rebounder and uses his length to make plays on the defensive end. Derkack picked up offers from Villanova and TCU this June and has the potential to pick up more offers over the next couple of weeks.

[player_tooltip player_id='1595671' first='Jebron' last='Harris'], 6'4 Patrick School

Harris is one of the top shooters in the class and should put it on display this July. The 6'4 guard has a smooth release on his jumper and can get hot from distance in a hurry. Harris is more than just a shooter as he can also put the ball on the floor and finish around the basket. He slides his feet on the defensive end and is an underrated passer. Harris is a sharpshooting guard prospect whose ability to torch the nets from distance will help his stock in a big way.

[player_tooltip player_id='1595680' first='Mason' last='Santiago'], 6'3 St. Peter's Prep

Santiago is playing with the Puerto Rican U17 team this July, which should help his stock nicely. The 6'3 guard has a good handle, which he uses to beat his defender off the bounce and can finish through contact in the paint. Santiago can also make opponents pay for giving him space behind the arc as he wastes little motion in his release. He works hard on the defensive end and moves well without the ball in his hands. Santiago is a gritty, guard prospect whose ability to make plays at both ends of the floor will help his development over the next couple of weeks.

[player_tooltip player_id='1874042' first='Micah' last='Pierce'], 6'3 Paterson Kennedy

Pierce has the potential to have a strong July with his ability to score inside and out. The 6'3 guard has a clean shooting stroke and can knock down triples in bunches. Pierce does more than just shoot as he can also get to the rim off the bounce and finish in the paint. He is an underrated rebounder and gets steals on the defensive end. Pierce's ability to stretch the floor and score in the paint will help his game in a big way this month.
