pretty much every night translated those very intangibles to impact winning, helping aid Gill St. Bernard’s to back to back Somerset County championships and their first NJSIAA Non-Public B state championship in program history. A catalyst for this Gill St. Bernard’s offense, Mulcahy scored efficiently in a variety of ways all season long— more often than not settling into a nice rhythm from the perimeter stepping into open looks and knocking down opportunistic three point opportunities at a very efficient rate, a clear reflection of his development as an outside shooter from since his freshman year, while also complementing that perimeter success with crafty finishing at the rim, using creativity off the bounce to get downhill and attack driving angles while also attacking with purpose in the open floor and even thriving as a cutter with his off ball movement often times cutting to open space for clean and easy looks at the basket. Mulcahy’s strong feel for the game also made an impact in Gill St. Bernard’s offense as an unselfish and willing facilitator to create advantageous scoring chances for those he shared the floor with and a versatile defender, guarding both quick guards out on the perimeter and being physical and disruptive against bigger opponents in the paint.

In an ugly showing from both sides, Mulcahy was one of the only players on the floor to put together a smooth offensive game. The senior swingman led the way for the Knights with a game-high 14 points while showcasing his versatility and efficiency. He was effective using his size to deliberately work to his spots off the dribble and finish with touch over the top of smaller Holy Cross guards. Mulcahy was also able to initiate some offense from the post, using his passing ability to punish double teams. It was the perfect way to cap a storied career before heading off to Canisius after graduation.

once again used some of those traits to impact winning in multiple ways, much like he has throughout the course of this season. Mulcahy impressed the most as an outside shot maker— settling into a nice rhythm from the perimeter early on in this contest, ultimately emerging as a dangerous off ball threat stepping into open looks and knocking down opportunistic three point opportunities at a very efficient rate. Beyond his outside shot making, Mulcahy also stood out as a selfless and willing passer and an impactful contributor on the boards.

, much like he’s done this season on Gill St. Bernard’s way to capturing back to backcourt Somerset County titles, utilized those traits and intangibles to impact winning in multiple areas Saturday afternoon. Mulcahy contributed as an efficient scorer— an efficient scoring attack that featured low post scoring against smaller defenders, sprinting the lanes with purpose in transition, attacking driving angles out of different PnR actions for crafty finishes around the basket, and pushing the break himself in the open floor to finish on the other end. Mulcahy also shined as an unselfish and willing passer, passing ahead to teammates up the floor in transition and utilizing his potent court vision to hit dump offs down low.

leveraged those intangibles to impact the game in a handful of ways— providing value as an efficient scorer, an unselfish connective passer, a versatile defender and a tough rebounder. An ultimate testament to the strides in his development since being in high school, Mulcahy settled into a nice rhythm from the perimeter— excelling as a dangerous threat off the ball and knocking down open three point shots at a highly efficient clip. Mulcahy also mixed in some crafty finishes at the rim— utilizing his creativity off the bounce to get to the basket along side some swift attacks of the basket in the open floor.

once again proved his importance to this Gill St. Bernard’s group. Reflective of both Gill’s emphasis on player movement in different half court actions and his keen overall feel for the game, Mulcahy benefited from those components as an inside finisher in their matchup against Rutgers Prep— slipping different screens, cutting backdoor off the ball, cutting hard out of flex cuts, all to convert on easy layups at the basket. Mulcahy also flashed his outside scoring ability, knocking down a pair of smooth and in rhythm threes off the catch.

demonstrated much of that versatility during Saturday’s action. One of the more impressive parts of his game along side his versatility and an ultimate testament to his development the last few years, Mulcahy exhibited his ability to be a confident and diverse outside shot maker in Gill’s matchup against TPS, both as a spot up shooter and creating slight seperation and knocking down shots off the bounce. Possessing an interesting combination of size and feel for the game, Mulcahy also found ways to contribute as a facilitator and a versatile defender.

Despite a loss to a high-powered Blair Academy team, Mulcahy showed he belonged while contributing across the board to help the host Knights to a respectable showing. The Canisius pledge brought active size and length in the floor game, operating all over the floor as a scorer, facilitator, and multipositional defender. He showed his toughness on the defensive end while guarding up in position to contend with an overpowering Blair frontline, while also making plays in transition and showing continued growth as a perimeter shooter. With loads of experience and high-major bloodlines, Mulcahy should be in store for a big senior season before heading off to the D1 level with the ability to compete for minutes early on.

Mulcahy has been a consistent contributor on the perimeter for the Knights and should take an even bigger step forward this season. The Canisius commit uses his handle to get to his spot on the floor and rarely gets rattled by on-ball pressure. Mulcahy rises up nicely on his jumper and scores nicely around the rim. He moves well without the ball in his hands and is an underrated defender. Mulcahy knows how to make plays with the ball in his hands and should put it on display throughout the course of the season.

got into a crazy rhythm, shooting the lid off the rim. With a quick and smooth release, Mulcahy almost rarely didn’t see a shot he didn’t like, consistently hunting his shot through Wednesday’s action. Mulcahy also flashed his three point shooting ability off the bounce as well.
