I haven’t seen that many 2028 prospects around Ohio but Jointer has to be one of the more talented wings in the state from that class. Already very developed physically, Jointer was around the ball a lot and played strong through contact. With a couple incredible dunks, Jointer showed off his athleticism in the open floor. On the defensive end, Jointer also blocked a handful of shots in the two games I caught. I also thought Jointer did a nice job being aggressive offensively, making good use of playing against older competition in the summer. He showed some flashes of ball handling and perimeter shot making, two skills that he seems to be currently developing.
A new name for myself, Welter is getting looks from Division I football programs in the Ivy League and MAC. On the hardwood, I was really impressed with what Welter showed me on Friday for an experienced La Salle squad. That experience allowed them to run a crisp offense where Welter scored off screens curling to the basket and using his soft hands to catch and finish. An impressive athlete too, Welter threw down some dunks in the half-court. Welter should be one of the most productive bigs in the GCL-South as a senior and would be worthy of small college basketball recruitment as well.

Finally getting back on the court after a knee injury held him out for almost a year, it was nice to see Addy making an impact for the Spartans. Always been a tough defensive guard, Addy’s ball pressure can force turnovers which allow his teammates to get out on the fast break. Combine that with some turnaround jumpers and time and space 3-pointers and Addy looks like he’s getting closer to the player he was prior to the injury.
One of the most talented players in attendance, Perry was one of the most productive players I saw this weekend. With a great motor and a winning mentality he brings to every game, Perry was scoring the ball early and often thanks to turning turnovers into breakaway layups. Also a tough shot maker off the bounce, Perry was knocking down contested jumpers all over the court. A priority recruit for mid major programs across the region, Perry is one of the top point guards in Ohio.

Another multi-sport athlete, Sellers already made his commitment to Illinois State for baseball. That didn’t stop him from dominating on the hardwood on Friday. Sellers has good size from the forward position and is skilled around the rim. Patient in the paint with pump fakes and pivots to keep defenders guessing. The lefty wants to go up with his dominant hand but does a nice job of moving without the ball and getting position to be efficient. It was nice to find a new name even if his athletic future past high school is on the Diamond.

Morris has been a consistent riser since the Spring began and he continues to shine with a Newark program that already is playing with the defensive continuity and toughness that fans are familiar with. Morris athleticism allows him to block shots and pickpocket ball handlers to help start the fast break for his team. In the half-court, Morris is an elite shooter off the catch who can run off screens and let it fly quickly. Newark will once again be a tough out in central Ohio due to their style of play and returning core that Morris leads.

standing out. Harney is tough to stop when he’s attacking off the bounce with his ability to change directions quickly and split past help-side defenders. A strong guard, Harney is also a football standout and that core strength shows when he tries to finish through contact. Also knocking down a couple pull-up buckets off the dribble, Harney is a tough cover when the ball is in his hands.
Pickerington Central has a new look squad this year and the Snyder twins will be key pieces in their backcourt. I thought both played well but wanted to spotlight Ayden’s scoring ability. He got to his spots in the mid-range and knocked down tough shots from that area of the court. Able to get low when he’s attacking, Snyder had a couple drive and kicks to shooters spotting up. His best finish of the day when he got to the rim was an acrobatic lefty layup past a shot blocker. Pickerington Central will have a very young team but the Tigers will be hungry to try and knock off some of the top teams in central Ohio this winter with a loaded schedule as always.
