About Michael
Expert Analysis

Acton had been the man for Owensboro for 2 years before transferring to Daviess County last summer. After taking a secondary role this year, expect Acton to be the man for the Panthers in his Senior year. A big time scorer, Michael is primed for a big year and could have an equally as big AAU season this spring and summer.

Another transfer into Daviess County, these additions have helped their team take that next step into the true contenders in the state tournament. Acton II is a fearless guard who made some tough drive and finishes and knocked down a couple of big 3-point shots. While his shot is a little funky, Acton II made open looks and had the confidence to force the defense to defend him beyond the arc. I also loved how fearless Acton II played against a team filled with long athletes, he had a putback layup at the buzzer to end the third quarter and also had a sweet layup off a lob pass. Key name to know in southwest Kentucky!

Saturday was my first chance to see Acton since his transfer to Daviess County and he showed he can be an efficient scorer with the talent around him that Daviess County provides. Michael showcased a smooth midrange jumper and got to the rim, too. Acton also kicked in 5 rebounds in the Panthers win.

One of the 3rd region’s leading scorers, Acton transferred across the district from Owensboro to Daviess County. The rich get richer with the addition of Michael. A secondary ball handler who is capable of getting buckets in a hurry, DC is one of the top teams to watch for in the state this season.

Acton is one of the biggest transfers this season but he gets overlooked because the 3rd region doesn’t get a ton of coverage outside of their area. Michael is a big time scoring guard who continues to improve his overall impact on the game and be more than just a scorer. With a loaded roster for Daviess County, look for Acton to have a big season with the Panthers.

Acton is a big time scorer who can also excel as a playmaker. He ultimately needs to be more of a point guard and facilitator at the next level but he does what his team needs him to do at Owensboro. If there is a player who is a little off the radar but could see his recruiting take off, Acton is probably a good pick.

Acton climbs into the top 20 and is having a big Sophomore season for the Red Devils. Averaging 22 points and 9 rebounds per game, Michael is predominantly a driver who gets to the rim repeatedly over the course of the game and gets to the foul line frequently.

Staying in western Kentucky, Acton makes his move from 50th to 34th after a good summer of high school ball as well as a solid AAU summer with Allegheny Blue Chips. Michael is a versatile scorer who is at his best when getting paint touches on his drives. Acton needs to become a better facilitator to reach his potential but he plays hard and can score the ball at a high level against his age group.

Another Owensboro product, Acton has shown an ability to score the ball at a high level, regardless of if he’s playing AAU or high school. He’ll need to grow another two inches or transition to the point full time but Michael has a bright future.

Likely the best player in the class in the third region, Acton will be expected to shoulder a lot of the scoring load for the Red Devils next season. Michael has a quick first step and can sit down and guard when he wants to.
