Section 6AAAA Rundown

This is a very talented section. Every team in this group has a player that is either a sure scholarship kid at some point or close to it. Some of the teams may not have the depth of talent to compete at the level they want to but there is not a team in this group that isn't worth your time in viewing.

As for Wayzata. They have hit a point that a lot of good programs hit where you just know they have talent coming up that will make them very good. Maybe not a sure title pick all the time but they have the depth to reload. There are only so many teams that get to that point and Wayzata is there. Plus the [program_tooltip program_id='2075965' first='Trojans' last=''] have the top prospect in the state in [player_tooltip player_id='1287438' first='Jackson' last='McAndrew'], they have a top sophomore in the state in [player_tooltip player_id='1560867' first='Christian' last='Wiggins'], and they have [player_tooltip player_id='1227246' first='Ben' last='Shaffer'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1286705' first='Drew' last='Nepstad'] back from last year's rotation so they are only reloading part of the group.

Can any of the teams in 6AAAA beat Wayzata? Maybe Hopkins. I say that because Hopkins has one of the best backcourts in the state and with Wayzata replacing their lead guard and most of their backcourt, the Royals could maybe pull that win. That said, the Royals have little up front and I don't think I have ever said that in 20 years of covering high school hoops in this state. Don't look past Edina either. They have their top scorers back and four of their top six returning.
