Josiah got things started off strong on Friday night. Physically Josiah has a strong build at 6’3-6’4 that should help him compete at Golden State Prep next season. In a matchup with Powerhouse MN he spent time playing either guard spot, where he was making smart reads with the ball and knocking down outside shots. Coleman knocked down back-to-back threes to get his team out to an early lead, and they went on to win big as Josiah continued to knock down jumpers with comfort.

Josiah continues to impress with his play this fall. Edina should have a solid all-around team, and Coleman has emerged as someone who can be a go-to scoring option on any given night. Against Eastview he kept his team in it as he displayed an impressive scoring arsenal. He can change his speed to get downhill to the rim, knock down catch-and-shoot threes, face up out of the post, or get to his spots in the mid-range. Eastview threw a variety of defenders on him, and Josiah was versatile enough to take advantage of any edge he had on his man. I think he’ll turn some heads this winter in the Lake Conference.

Josiah was giving BSM problems as he helped lead his Edina team to a win. Every few possessions in the first half they tried throwing a different defender on him and they couldn’t keep him out of the paint. They were told to force him left and Josiah just went to his left hand with no issue. At 6’3 with solid strength and athleticism he was able to just hang in the air and adjust his body to finish from various angles. He’s not the type to impress with overly flashy plays, but Josiah simply goes out and produces just about any time I watch him play.
