Dinos Trigonis and his Pangos brand brought together many of the regions best teams – and players – for a combination of showcase games and the loaded Challenge of Champions bracket. In this piece we detail the top performers.
Jason Crowe, Jr., 2026, Lynwood
One of the top-ranked 2026 prospects in the country scored a team-high 25 points in a narrow loss to St. Anthony of Long Beach. The 6-foot-3 point guard had his tough shot-making, crafty finishing and deep three-point consistency on display.
Quincy Phillips Quincy Phillips 6'0" | PG St. Anthony | 2024 State CA-S , 2024, St. Anthony
Phillips scored 23 of his game-high 26 points in St. Anthony’s comeback win over Lynwood. The senior point guard struggled in the first half as he got a bit sped up against Lynwood’s run and jump press but he settled down in the second half, took advantage of open driving lanes, and finished strong at the rim.
Rocco Gaffoglio Rocco Gaffoglio 6'0" | CG Foothill | 2025 State CA-S , 2025, Foothill
Gaffoglio is one of the many high IQ creators in Foothill’s efficient ball movement and player movement offense. The 5-foot-11 junior scored 16 points with a crafty display of breaking down defenders off the bounce and a variety of floaters and pull-up jumpers.
Tajh Ariza Tajh Ariza 6'8" | SF Westchester | 2026 State CA-S , 2026, St. Bernard
What impressed me the most about Ariza was the pace and control he played with while being the primary ball-handler and creator for St. Bernard. The 6-foot-6 guard/wing scored 21 of his game-high 26 points in the first half of a three-point loss to Roosevelt. Ariza scored in every way imaginable and flashed improvement in shot selection and three-point consistency.
Tounde Yessoufou Tounde Yessoufou 6'6" | SF St. Joseph (Santa Maria) | 2025 State #20 Nation CA-S , 2025, St. Joseph
There’s something about the McBride gym that brings the best out of Yessoufou. The 6-foot-5 wing/forward is not only a physical and athletic freak he’s also a highly-skilled player whose three-point shooting improvement only adds to his effectiveness as a scorer. In an opening round win over St. Joseph, Yessoufou scored 27 points and added 33 in a two-point loss to Corona Centennial in the Challenge of Champions semifinals.
Wes Trevino, 2025, Los Alamitos
The junior guard won’t blow you away with size, length or athleticism but his smooth mid-range jumper and ability to stretch the floor off the catch from behind the arc led to him scoring a game-high 29 points in the Griffins’ impressive win over St. Francis. Trevino also has great footwork and feel as a scorer in the painted area.
