One of the more psychically gifted prospects in the state, Woodson is turning into a bowling ball around the rim. He has a strong frame, that allows him to terrorize around the basket. And during a bracket play win, the Knight showed why he has so much upside. In a close back and forth contest, he turned his motor up around the basket. While also stepping out and hit two clutch threes. One in particular was a very smooth stepback move.
Crooked Oak would win their division, and in the semifinals it was an electrifying performance for the compact and quick guard that helped them advance to the finals. Garcia made a living in the paint, where he’s an outstanding finisher for his size. When the defense started to sag off to compensate for his quick first step, he even buried a deep triple. Mix in some flashy playmaking in transition, and Garcia has the look of the type of undersized but super productive lead guard that leads his squads to lots of wins over the next few years.
A quality sharpshooter, Leache was often locked in from distance and the mid-range for Casady throughout the week. He’s quick at getting to his spots in his mid-range. It looks like Leache is transitioning from a scorer first guard to more of a well rounded lead guard, which should make for a very productive “3 headed monster” backcourt for Casady as they transition to OSSAA this winter.

Carl Albert will enter this winter as the favorites in Class 5A. Upperclassmen will headline a talented roster, but the younger Hopkins brother could be the “X-factor” who elevates them come March. For a youngster, he rarely looked out of control and played very well on drives to the hoop. Where he was a good finisher against an upperclassmen heavy team, with good body control and great touch at the rim. On the smaller side right now, if Hopkins matches his older brothers height and athleticism, he very well could be a big time prospect down the road.
