Dane Cassada Dane Cassada 6’3″ | CG Calvary Day School | 2026 State NC was one of a few 2026 names that stood out at the TriadFirst48 County Clash. He showed an increased strength/athleticism in getting to the rim and making things happen off the bounce as a combo guard. He’s still lethal shooting the ball on the perimeter as he knocked down shots with consistency on the perimeter. He’s a young name out of Calvary Day School to start tracking early in the Triad area.
Cooper Jackson Cooper Jackson 6’7″ | PF Reagan | 2024 State NC was a post presence that played with a ton of energy around the rim. He showed masterful footwork in the paint to maneuver for tough buckets around the rim all day long. He even showed he could step out on the perimeter and knock down shots or find teammates in space for easy buckets as well. He’s a name out of Reagan High to keep an eye on given his development over recent months.
Cal Barrett Cal Barrett 6’9″ | SF Moravian Prep | 2025 NC is quite the stretch forward prospect in the making to keep an eye on over at Bishop McGuinness High. He showed he could run the floor with ease, protect the rim as a defender and showed off his burst to the rim on a few different occasions. He’s a 6-foot-9 prospect that can operate off the bounce just as well as being a presence in the paint. As he improves his strength/frame, look for his name to grow in NC’s 2024 class.

I don’t think there’s another 2026 prospect that would make you appreciate fundamental basketball more than Dionte Neal Dionte Neal 5’10” | PG Reidsville | 2026 State NC . He doesn’t force things, applies constant pressure on defense and looks to pass first before looking for his own shot. He stood out with his ability to keep his guys organized and showed off his ballhandling ability despite being just a 2026 prospect. Certainly a future HM prospect in the making, whether on the hardwood or the football field.

First glimpse of Max VanWeerdhuizen Max VanWeerdhuizen 6’0″ | PG High Point Christian Academy | 2026 State NC left me highly impressed. He showed confidence in getting to his spots on the perimeter to make things happen as a shooter and finisher in the paint. He didn’t hesitate to get others involved either and did well to find his teammates in space for easy scores. He’s a high-level floor general to get eyes on out of Oak Grove High.
