There were plenty of other phenomenal performances to mention, so here are some of the notable performers who didn’t quite make “Big Hoss” for Week 6.
Jeremiah Wright Jeremiah Wright 6'6" | PF Lynden Christian | 2024 State WA | Lynden Christian – 25 points, 16 rebounds, 3 blocks @ Mt. Baker 1/4
Wright racked up big numbers against Mt. Baker, taking advantage of his superior strength down low. He got up and down the court, capitalizing on open court opportunities, and was a mainstay inside, planting himself around the paint all game long. He got wide around the rim, held his ground, and was just too strong for opposing players as he finished through contact at the rim for an efficient 25 points with a lot of those being second chance opportunities.
Parker Baumann Parker Baumann 6'5" | CG Shorecrest | 2023 State WA | Shorecrest – 30 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists @ Lynwood 1/4
Baumann’s game is so fluid and he’s able to bring a lot of versatility to the floor as seen by this stat line; rebounding, scoring from different levels, and keeping good court vision to dish the ball around with his usual height advantage. He’s more than capable of scoring from three and at the rim, but a lot of Baumann’s playmaking comes from his ability to attack the in between spaces. He shows good footwork and can hit shots off a variety of bases. Attacking from these spaces also forces multiple defenders to converge on him and opens up his ability to find teammates in good spots.
Luke Browne Luke Browne 6'6" | SG Gig Harbor | 2023 State WA | Gig Harbor – 32 points, 8 rebounds vs Capital 1/4
I have heard a lot of talks about shooters recently and one guy I don’t hear enough about is Luke Browne Luke Browne 6'6" | SG Gig Harbor | 2023 State WA . He is one of the top shooters in the state and put on a show from deep and the mid-range against Capital in a close game. He was hitting coming off of screens, with mid-range fadeaways, pullups, catch and shoots, and nailed some really tightly contested shots. His consistency hinges on his ability to get his shoulders square to the hoop no matter what his takeoff is. Something he was able to do quite a bit of Wednesday night.
Brooklyn Hicks Brooklyn Hicks 6'3" | CG Timberline | 2023 State #168 Nation WA | Timberline – 51 points, 12 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals @ Central Kitsap 1/4
This game was a runaway from the start as Timberline was forcing turnovers and running and gunning their way to a big blowout. That fit perfectly into Hicks’ skillset and he was an effective 23/29 from two-point field goals with seven offensive rebounds in the game.
Morgan Anderson | Raymond – 35 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, 16/17 FG @ North Beach 1/3
Anderson pops up on here again, this time banking 35 points and nearly going perfect from the field. He’s really thrived this season as Raymond’s top dog, and has feasted on certain matchups on his way to averaging nearly 23 points per game.
Carson Lehnert Carson Lehnert 6'3" | SG Blaine | 2023 State WA | Blaine – 25 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, 1 block @ Nooksack Valley 1/3
Blaine has been off to a hot start, winning nine in a row after dropping their first game of the season by two points to King’s. A big part of that has been the senior trio leading the way and on Tuesday night it was Carson Lehnert Carson Lehnert 6'3" | SG Blaine | 2023 State WA ‘s turn to shine. The sharpshooter has continued to stay ready to shoot, showing a great base on the catch and shoot and a quick pull. He’s mixed in some more drives to the hoop this season along with improved footwork to manuerver around and split defenders and it has led to more scoring, and a big season building for the Borderites.
Michael Lorton Watkins Michael Lorton Watkins 5'11" | CG Hoquiam | 2023 State WA | Hoquiam – 29 points, 8 rebounds, 6 steals @ Elma 1/4
Lorton Watkins isn’t the biggest guy on the floor at 5’11, but he utilizes quick feet and good body control to create space on the offensive end and apply pressure defensively. Against Elma, he was clicking from the mid-range early on, succeeding with the pullup and step back going to the middle of the court. He does a great job of keeping his feet under him with all his moves and remains on balance when he lifts off for the jumper. He’s a guy with a lot of energy too, hustling his way to 8 rebounds and 6 steals to accompany the big scoring day.
Zach Luz Zach Luz 6'1" | CG Mount Rainier | 2024 State WA | Mount Rainier – 30 points, 12 rebounds, 3 steals, 11/12 FT @ Kent-Meridian 1/5
It was a gritty game for Luz who started slow and found a lot of resistance at the rim throughout the entirety of the first half. He had to work hard for his shots and did most of his work breaking his man down and attacking from the dribble. While not a lot fell in the first half, things opened up in the second and Luz started to find more space. He expended a lot of effort and was constantly attacking multiple defenders on each possession. Once he saw a couple go through the net he seemed to find his rhythm and nearly helped his team come back and steal the victory.
Shelton Henton Shelton Henton 6'4" | SG Interlake | 2025 AZ | Interlake – 38 points, 16 rebounds @ Hazen 1/6
In only his second game of the season, Henton looked to be in rhythm, using his outside shot to set up the drives inside on his way to 38 points. Adding to that improved long range shot, Henton looks to be a little stronger too and was active inside and around the basket. He was able to find some comfort shooting off of the dribble early and mixed in a few pullups from mid-range, then started to drop in the catch and shoot threes while drawing defenders further out from the hoop. It’s a promising start for the talented sophomore.
Sylas Williams Sylas Williams 6'6" | SF Jackson | 2023 State WA | Jackson – 25 points, 16 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 blocks vs Kamiak 1/6
Williams is one of those guys who could probably find his way on this list most weeks. He’s currently averaging 20.8 points per game, 12.8 rebounds, and 3.3 assists. He has taken his offensive game to another level this season with the ability to hit from behind the arc and has shown excellent vision as a playmaker from the block, short corner, and from the perimeter. Wherever he goes on the court he draws a lot of attention and continues to have an outstanding senior season.
“Big Hoss” Performance of the Week
Keaine Silimon Keaine Silimon 6'1" | PG Shorecrest | 2023 State WA | Shorecrest – 31 points, 9 steals, 7 rebounds, 5 assists vs Meadowdale 1/6
Silimon was a literal game changer against Meadowdale. The Scots were in a tight one throughout the first half until leading by six with about three minutes to play when Silimon turned it on. He scored 11 points in the last few minutes, getting steals, offensive rebounds, and an and-one to up their lead to 16 at half. He came out after the break with the same energy and never left that zone. The lead kept growing and Silimon led the charge with active hands defensively and a will to push to the ball and get to the rim. He was all over the place and it led to a stacked stat line, a Scots’ win, and the title as Week 6’s “Big Hoss.”
