Sevy has been a force for Grandview, putting together six straight double digit performances, including three games over 20 points and a dominant 22-12 double double. He controls the paint, establishes deep position and finishes strong through contact, doing most of his damage on the block. Defenses have struggled to keep him off the glass and out of scoring spots. He’s more than just an interior presence as Sevy can step out and knock down shots at all three levels, making him a matchup nightmare every night
With Sevy, the ceiling is sky-high, and we’ve seen those flashes plenty. Colorado Live and fall events showed his confidence at its peak as he attacked mismatches and finished through size. And he has size himself. Just want him to be relentless with it. When he gets going, nobody can slow him down, and want that assertiveness to continue. Now the challenge is consistency. With more scoring responsibility coming his way, he must stay aggressive offensively and take over in every single game. He takes on the ball-handling responsibilities, so it is about making the right reads, and prove he can carry the load nightly. He just committed yesterday, and now it is about elevating his game to prepare for the next part of his journey.
Sevy used the fall league to showcase the full range of his game and take another step forward in his development. Offensively he displayed strong command of the floor, showing poise and confidence as a playmaker. His ability to attack the rim with acrobatic finishes, create separation with a quick step back and consistently knock down shots from deep made him a tough cover for defenders. On the other end his defensive presence stood out, Sevy stayed active on rotations, crashed the boards with intensity and consistently challenged shots at the rim. His growth was evident in the way he impacted the game on both ends, emerging as a complete two way player and a key piece for his team

was one of the biggest stock risers on the weekend for me for Grandview. Every single time that I looked up, he was making a play. What stands out most is his size as he’s a 6’5 guard. He was bringing the ball up the floor, finding teammates as a playmaker, and scoring with ease. If that wasn’t enough, he was finishing through contact and battling down low. He got whatever he wanted in games, battled, and was a player I was thoroughly impressed by throughout the weekend.
With a Grandview program searching for scoring options, Sevy brings the skill and size to be a fairly high usage option. Capable of hitting fadeaways or pull-ups in the mid-range, he has excellent footwork at 6’5. Additionally a mobile defender on the opposite end, he will play a vital role towards their rim protection. Sevy follows last season at Grandview with 5.1 points and 3.3 rebounds per game.
Remaining one of the most skilled athletes at his height within the class, Sevy brings smooth footwork and soft touch inside the arc. Boasting a progressing shotmaking portfolio on all three levels, his increased role stepping into a new look Grandview program will be essential to follow.
Improving his skills with the ball, his tighter handle and quicker moves with the ball make Sevy a key name with the Grandview program. Continuing to get stronger, he looks to take on opposing forwards in the post, active contributing fadeaways or finesse finishes. His production weighed heavily for this program, still searching for consistent shotmaking.
A skilled playmaker at his height, the wing looks to put pressure on the rim, although Sevy possesses plenty of options. Putting the ball on the floor better than most in the state at his height and class, Sevy is a skilled driver or post shotmaker when necessary. Active out of turnaround shot attempts within the mid-range, his high release point allows him to knock down attempts over contests with ease.
Sevy got up for a few dramatic dunks, showing continued improvements in vertical athleticism over the past 6 months. He was particularly willing to step into pull-up jumpers and pivot finishes around the rim, showing more willingness while handling the ball. The forward is a tall scoring threat, especially dangerous while slashing along the baseline. As the jumper and handle continue to improve, we will see Sevy’s shotmaking opportunities continue to progress.
Sevy was an X-Factor for this team giving his well rounded game and constant hustle. He seemed to always be in the right spot at the right time on offense and coverted time and time again.
