Spring Kick Off (2017): 16U standouts (bigs)
DENVER, Colo. — Prep Hoops takes a look at some of the top 16U big me who impressed this past weekend in Denver at the Spring Kick Off (2017).
14 — Marshal Ehrlin, 6’4, 2019, Rampart, The Force Basketball Elite
Big physical inside player that is a good screen setter, rebounder and likes to mix it up in the paint. Has good strength as a player and a good frame.
15 — Bryson Becker, 6’8, 2019, Colorado Chaos Elite
Long, rangy player with a good feel for scoring around the bucket. Is more of an inside guy at the offensive end, but is a versatile enough athlete to defend multiple spots defensively.
33 — Bailey Verk, 6’5, 2019, Colorado Chaos Elite
Strong, physical player who is a good rebounder with good post moves around the basket. He plays bigger than his listed height and does a good job of mixing it up in the paint.
35 — Assane Diouf, 7’0, 2019, Denver East, Colorado Hawks
Diouf has tremendous size, an 89 inch wing span and a big frame. Has good hands and a nice feel for scoring the ball around the bucket. Fouls took him out of a few games over the weekend, but he is as talented a big man as we saw in Denver.
44 — Javier Turner, 6’9, 2019, Benson, Billups Elite
Rangy, athletic defender type that does a good job challenging shots in the paint and tracking down rebounds. Had some good moments defensively throughout the tournament.
45 — Jordan Stratch, 6’`7, 2019, Ralston Valley, B&B Academy
An active big man with a long, athletic frame. Has a good nose for the ball, nice post moves inside and had some good moments against a good Billups Elite team. Can handle the ball a little, going coast-to-coast on a couple occasions for lay-ups and has a nice free throw stroke.
50 — Silar Tschirhart, 6’8, 2019, Blue Valley, KC Spurs
(Pictured) Love his size and physical play, Tschirhart is an old school throw back post player who loves to bang in the paint. Looks to post up and has a nice back-to-the basket game, Really wants to go to a right handed jump hook which he has a soft touch.
