After a month of team camps across the state, it was nice to get things back up and running with the Prep Hoops Circuit. Things began on Saturday in Oklahoma City and Edmond with the “The Finale”. I was stationed at the Santa Fe Center for 15U basketball all day and here is part two on some of the standouts that I saw in action. These players were more like role players on their respective teams. All four played for teams that had other standouts but these four were consistent throughout the afternoon and were incredibly reliable when the teams needed a play. Stay tuned for more coverage from the 17U and 16U divisions throughout the weekend. In case you missed part one, you can check that out RIGHT HERE.
Grant Loper – 2025 Guard – RSE Basketball (Westmoore)
RSE Basketball 2025 guard Grant Loper had a strong day on Saturday and his twin brother Garrett absolutely went off and was one of the top scorers from day one. The breakdown on Garrett is in part one but for Grant, he had a steady day in the scoring category and while he never went off for 30+ points and lit it up from beyond the arc, he gave RSE Basketball consistent scoring throughout the afternoon in OKC. Loper did most of his damage in the paint, whether it was driving to the basket or getting the ball from the perimeter and going to work as an undersized forward. The Loper brothers were two good guard prospects that we saw on Saturday and the duo will be something to watch moving forward.
Jake Weaver Jake Weaver 6'10" | C Edmond North | 2025 State OK – 2025 Center – Oklahoma Flight (Edmond North)
The star on Saturday for Oklahoma Flight was 2025 forward Logan Knol out of Edmond North. But along with Knol, the Flight had other size and one prospect that impressed was 2025 center Jake Weaver Jake Weaver 6'10" | C Edmond North | 2025 State OK who has moved to Edmond North. We first saw Weaver earlier this year at another PH Circuit event and you could tell that he was still raw and had some work to do. This time around, Weaver was on his game and had definitely improved in the last few months. Weaver is an absolute tank in the paint and he uses his strength and size to give him room to operate down low. And while he’s strong, he also has nice touch around the basket. He’s a rebounding machine and he plays solid post defense against other forwards and centers.
Logan Shockley – 2025 Forward – Tulsa Impact (Broken Arrow)
Broken Arrow has a nice collection of lanky forwards who bring a lot of versatility to the floor. In the 2023 class, there is star forward Connor Dow Connor Dow 6'6" | SF Broken Arrow | 2023 State #252 Nation OK and forward Ethan Ellison Ethan Ellison 6'6" | PF Broken Arrow | 2023 State OK . They might have another young forward coming up and ready to make an impact along with those two. 2025 forward Logan Shockley was impressive in the game that we watched on Saturday. While most of the attention was on Bixby guard Triston Driver Triston Driver 6'0" | PG Bixby | 2025 State OK while playing for Tulsa Impact, Shockley made the most of his opportunities. While the game was played at a frantic pace, Shockley always seemed composed and ready to make a play when called on. He has a good mix of skills on the offensive side of the ball and we want to see more of him moving forward.
Sahllomar Stephens – 2025 Center – Buddy Buckets OKC (Seminole)
Another 2025 center that impressed us on Saturday was 2025 Sahllomar Stephens out of Seminole while he played for Buddy Buckets OKC. Stephens’ game is very similar to Weaver at Stillwater as he’s just a paint monster. He has a thick upper body that allows him to bully his way thru the paint but he’s not just a brute down low. He also has nice touch with either hand and was a consistent finisher down low. Whether it was getting entry passes from the perimeter or cleaning up on the offensive glass, when Stephens got the ball down low, he was incredibly efficient with his shots and made more than he missed. This small school big man will definitely be someone to watch grow and develop over the next few years.
